The Path To Become The Toughest Soul
1. Keep in mind you will want to use every single stone you come across to upgrade your weapons throughout every single playthrough you make in this game.
2. Defeat every world boss in Soul form. DO NOT ENTER A LEVEL ALIVE, KILL YOURSELF IN THE NEXUS. This is to make sure you have Pure White Tendency in every world. Make sure you do every single special even in Pure White World Tendency (be wary of Executioner Miralda in 1-1, killing her will shift you back to Neutral World Tendency, so if you do so, make sure you have room to defeat the two optional bosses, the Red and Blue Dragon, before you defeat False King Allant).
3. New Game + you will want to focus on Black World Tendency. This will allow you to boost your Character Tendency to Pure White by killing the special black phantoms in certain worlds. You will need this to obtain the Friend's Ring.
4. Make sure you have used every soul to its proper use before you start New Game ++, in which you will want to focus on finishing off either your spells, miracles, or legendary weapon forging.
5. New Game ++ round 2. Finish off any spells, miracles, or legendary weapons you do not have. Shift your Character Tendency to Pure Black by killing unimportant vendors and merchants in the worlds (no one in the Nexus!). Do Mephistopheles quests when she appears for the Foe's Ring. You should have platinum after this if you remembered to use your stones effectively on random maxed out upgraded weapons.

ALTERNATIVE:
1. Farm your souls for spells and miracles and go online to trade for your needed items with generous, higher leveled friends.

Soldier's Trophy
All Unique Weapons Obtained.
This, as well as the rest of the gold trophies, will be the reason you must play through this whole game 3, possibly even 4 times before obtaining platinum. This is by far the hardest trophy in the game. While some of these weapons are easy to obtain, others will be the bane of your existence. You CAN trade with other players online and that will count towards this trophy. You will need Pure White World and Pure Black World Tendency for almost every level on different playthroughs for this trophy. Here is the list of every legendary weapon and how to obtain them:

False King's Trophy
Slayer of Demon "False King".
This boss can be a real vein popper if you do not know how to fight him. He is resistant to almost all magic and fire attacks and has no real weakness to different types of melee attacks. It is recommended you go head on against him with at least a soul level of at least 70. You will want a lot of endurance for this fight (the Eternal Warrior's Ring is highly recommended here) and a lot of skill with dodge rolling in order to successfully melee the False King. If you want to take the easy route, use a combination of the Thief's Ring and Poison Cloud. You could potential creep up the steps (no further then your left foot on the top of the stairs) and cast Poison Cloud to slowly drain the bosses' health to zero without him ever attacking you. To new players, you may want to consider this method, as the Flase King enjoys quick, heavy strikes that knock you down combined with the instakill move Soulsucker (which will drain you of 1 soul level!). There are several other methods to beating him, and when he falls, this trophy will be yours.

Storm King's Trophy
Slayer of Demon "Storm King".
This battle can be very intimidating when you first go into it. You may think the way to go about is to take out every single manta ray with your arrows or ranged spells first before you focus on the Storm King. NO! In the area there is a sword called Stormbringer. It should be somewhere near the opposite end of the cliff in which you enter. The sword creates a great wave of air cutting energy that will put an end to the manta rays fairly fast, and Storm King soon after. If you want to find a safe place to heal, keep the corners of the broken stone building (where you should find the sword near) and the flying magical spears of the enemies around you will never hit you.

Old Monk's Trophy
Slayer of Demon "Old Monk".
You do not fight the Old Monk directly in this battle, instead you get to fight a black phantom in which he has bestowed his powers into. Note that you will NOT want to play this boss online, for there is a high chance that another player will invade your game and replace the Old Monk's black phantom and become the final boss of the stage. As if online players weren't cheap as they are already. The CPU boss isn't much to worry about. If you have high endurance and fairly good magical resistance and a good shield, you will barely have to try against this boss. Just be wary of the glowing orbs generated around the phantom when its health drops below 50%, for they will deal armor penetrating magic damage. Side stepping tends to do the job in avoiding these orbs. This boss likes to run up to you with Claws equipped, making them have next to no range. A large two handed weapon is recommended to make this fight even easier then it already is.

Maiden Astraea's Trophy
Slayer of Demon "Maiden Astraea".
If you go straight for Maiden Astraea, you're warranting a death sentence. When the boss battle starts, take out the goblins and head to your left until you see Garl Vinland guarding the direct path to the boss. He will not leave this spot for any reason other then to swing his weapon at you (or to chase you down if you take the right path to the boss). Use lunge attacks and avoid his powerful swings. Once he is down, you simply need to talk to Maiden Astraea. She will kill herself in mourn over Garl and you will have yet another archdemon down.

Dragon God's Trophy
Slayer of Demon "Dragon God".
Just like practically every other archdemon, this boss is a joke. Considering every hit is a one hit kill, it is best you unequip everything except a sword/ spear and a long ranged weapon (bow or catalyst). Make sure you have the Thief's Ring equipped to make this even more easy. When the battle begins, wait for the Dragon God to punch the wall. Hide out of sight and his eye swill turn yellow, meaning he does not know where you are and is passive. Rub for cover behind a column. He will roar when he sees you, but this does not mean he will punch at you if you're fast enough (which is why it's better to go without armor). The first round you must quickly destroy the rubble and head back to cover so he loses sight of you. Do this until you get to the first ballista and shoot him down. Next round he will breathe fire at you if he sees you, so break away the rubble when he is looking up in pain. Get to the second ballista and shoot him. Now is the 'hard' part. It's only hard if you don't have a long ranged weapon, but now you must go up to his face and finish him off by hitting his chin spike. With a long ranged weapon you can shoot it from far away and avoid his breaths of fire. He goes down after only a few hits by this point.

Old King's Trophy
Conqueror of Old King Doran.
You can not access the doors to Old King Doran until you have been given the key by Ostrava in 1-4. This means Ostrava can not die in any of the first 3 parts of Boletarian Palace. Remember in 1-1 the red-eyed knight? He is guarding the entrance to Old King Doran's humble abode. Do not kill him on your first meet, otherwise you will greatly hinder your world tendency and your character tendency. Talk to him and he will challenge you to a duel. All you need to do is get his health down to 75% or lower to win it. He will reward you with Demonbrand and this trophy when you win.

Flying Dragon's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Blue Flying Dragon”.
The Blue Flying Dragon is easily the hardest optional boss in the game. Normally you can just run right past him and go straight for False King Allant, as the dragon simply guards the gateway to him. If you rescued Biorr of the Twin Fangs and he did not die against the Penetrator (or by your hands), then he will be fighting the Blue Flying Dragon here. Both will be taking very little damage, but if you let them fight to the death, Biorr will never win. There are no concrete strategies to this boss as he is hard to hit. It is best if you want to hit him with magic or bows to attack him before he flies to the wall and fights Biorr, as you will have a clear shot at him from behind a door. He can not be hit by Death Cloud or Poison Cloud like the Red Flying Dragon in 1-2, but you can potentially poison him with kunais from 4-2. The other effective method is to have a lot of heavy bolts and a Heavy Cross bow, stand in the blind spot of the dragon (right where the flames hit in the safe zone) and fire at his head via lock on. You will not be able to see him nor his health so your hits will be out of luck. When he dies you get his soul as well as this trophy. My personal vote for hardest, or at least most annoying boss in the game.

Phalanx's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Phalanx”.
Let's be honest, if you are having trouble defeating Phalanx, you should not be playing Demon's Souls. Phalanx is the boss of 1-1 and by far the easiest boss in the game. The boss is essentially a defenseless blob of lead protected by shielded min versions of itself with spears. The spears can hit hard if you're not defending so keep your shield up. Phalanx is wear against fire, so put all the firebombs and turpentine you acquired in 1-1 and go to town on him. Also, if you're Royalty, then Soul Arrow will work wonders against his mini selves in this battle. If you need to heal then simply put a pillar between you and as many of the min Phalanx's as possible.

Tower Knight's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Tower Knight”.
The Tower Knight looks intimidating, but do not be fooled, just as all bosses in this game, there is a trick to making him a joke easy. The general strategy is not too difficult either way, it's you're choice. For the general strategy, run up the stairs immediatly and kill the men shooting arrows at you. Once they are dead on both sides, run down quickly and get behind the Tower Knight. As long as you're wary of his uncanny ability to step backwards, you should be safe behind him and his shield. Strike at btoh his ankles until he topples over (make sure he doesn't fall on you). When he's fallen over, run up and hit him in the head to do more damage. The alternative method makes the battle even more easy. Stay behind a wall equipped with a magic spell like Soul Arrow or Soul Ray and fire every time you see him pull back to throw a magic bolt at you. If you timed right you'll do a lot of damage to his head. Either way, this boss should not be a problem.

Penetrator's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Penetrator”.
If you do not know how to go into this boss fight you could be in for some trouble. It is essential you rescue Biorr of the Twin Fangs from 1-3 with the Ring of Iron Keys for this fight. With Biorr helping, the Penetrator is almost sololy focused on him, leaving himself wide open to magic. The Penetrator is weak against fire moves especially, so wail on him with any of your fire based magic spells. He will get annoyed and turn towards you. When he does does avoid his swing and wait for him to return to focus on Biorr again. Do this until he is dead.

Adjudicator's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Adjudicator”.
The Adjudicator is invulnerable except for the golden bird on top of its head. The bird acts as his eyes as the boss is blind. You will hear it caw before he strikes. Get down to the ground level as soon as you enter the fog as the boss's toungue is hard to dodge and very painful. As long as you stay behind it or on the far side of the blade in its belly or under the swinging arm, you will be safe. Just try not to get caught against a wall. The only way you can hurt the Adjudicator is if you stab, don't slash, at the wound in its side. It will fall down and you can stab at the bird. Repeat this until he dies. Remember that when he falls he steps back some, so make sure falls witha lot of open space behind him.

Old Hero's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Old Hero”.
While 4-2 is easily one of the hardest levels in this game, the Old Hero is a joke. Sure he hits hard and could potenitially one-shot you if you'r enot careful or don't have good defenses, but he is blind. Equip the Thief's Ring to make this even easier. As long as you don't make a noise and don't use magic the Old Hero will never see you. Walk (don't run) up behind him while he's attacking and hit him hard. He will roar with anger and you will want to back up so he doesn't turn and strike a punishing blow at you. Repeat this until he falls and you should have little trouble.

Fool's Idol's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Fool's Idol”.
The Fool's Idol can be pretty tricky if you don't know what you're doing. A trap designed for unbeknowst players will put you in an infinite loop of respawning Idol's. When you enter the fog behind the large tower shooting arrows, run across to the right side of the grand stairs and go to the top of the tower and run all the way down into the church. Here you will see Liar, a Dregling who lies by telling you he "will be of no trouble to you." Kill him and take the keys next to him (they free Sage Freke). Liar will otheriwsie revive the Fool's Idol every time you kill her. In the actual battle with Fool's Idol, she will duplicate herself across the arena. Focus on the real Idol, which will be firing a large blue bolt of electrical energy, while the others fire small rays of piercing energy. Use the pillars to traverse the arena without taking too much damage and beware if the traps in the floor that electricute you when you walk over them. Tread lightly and hit hard and you should be able to leave this battle without too much a hassle.

Maneater's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Maneater”.
The trouble isn't that you face Maneater in this face. The real problem is that you face two, on a bridge with no way to save yourself from falling. To put it simply, this is one of the harder bosses in the game. When the battle starts, run like the wind to the giant brazier atop the steps halfway down the brdige past Maneater. You will use this brazier as a means to put a barrier between you and the monster. The second Maneater will come in after you do a little damage or waste too much time aginst the first Maneater. Your main focus while there is still one is to cut off its tail. Doing so will prevent you from being hit with homing soul arrows while the boss is in flight. When the second one comes in you will want to do the same to it. Try and focus on just one at a time. When one goes down the other will become confused and leave it self open from time to time to a strong attack. Simply take your time and be wary of the lack of boundries around you and you should be fine hugging the brazier with your eyes on the bosses.

Leechmonger's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Leechmonger”.
This guy can be joke if you know how to approach the battle. Run around the board walk (don't jump down!) and climb your way down. He will probably attack you once or twice with balls of slime that hurt if they hit, but nothing too worrysome. Get down right in front of him and use Turpentine or Black Turpentine and go to town on him. Heal when he punches you down, but his hits shouldn't be too damaging. After awhile he'll try to heal, simply keep wailing on him and you could potentially catch him in a loop of trying to heal while you do more damage then he can recover. Either way, the boss is easy and should go down easy.

Dirty Colossus' Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Dirty Colossus”.
The Dirty Colossus hits pretty hard and his flies are a very annoying way to drain your life and kill you. If you have Fire Spray and broke the shielding around his chest with a melee attack, the Dirty Colossus is a joke. Run circles around him and use the nifty spell and he will never touch you, nor will his flies. If the flies do hit you, run into the torches and they will burn off. If you want to go melee against the Dirty Colossus then simply avoid its powerful punches and wait at its back until it dies.

Armor Spider's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Armor Spider”.
The Purple Flame Shield is your friend early on because of this boss fight. If you have it you can block most of the spider's attacks and fire magic spells or run up and attack its face when free. Occasionally it will charge a powerful fire shot that you will want to run as far away into the left corner to avoid properly (though you may still get hit regardless). If you do not have the shield, dodge roll or side step with care as you attack the spider thorugh magic or melee and heal often. Note that the boss is weak against Sticky White Stuff, so bring some to the battle if you plan to fight it melee.

Flamelurker's Trophy
Slayer of Demon “Flamelurker”.
This guy is up there with Maneater hard. This is because he likes to wail on you with physical attacks and uses ranged attacks to throw you off. His super nova will hit heavy and leave you open for attack. The best method is to run to the back of the arena and to the giant bone spine near the wall to the left. Hide behind it and you will more the likely get the beast caught trying to get through the hole. Use Soul Arrow or Soul Ray to make this fight a lot easier then it normally is. You will want a flame resistent shield and the Ring of Flame Resistance equipped for this battle. Tread carefully and stick to the bone spine in the corner as a means to put distance between you and the flaming ifrit at all times. Good luck.
