I loved Red Alert and I loved Red Alert 2 even more!

Well since then, my love for Strategy games has vanished. I used to whore stuff like Age of Empires too, but I seem to have traded my Strategy love for FPS love.

I could just try out the PC demo, though...

Will get it, too.
But the trophies are not that easy to get except the normal "complete chapter X".
There are some really nasty ones in there.
Red Alert was always so much fun with the alternate timeline and crazy stuff happening.

Brutal is easy! all you need is to play soviets vs. us (they got planes and you got kirovs and best tanks in the game!)

mouse is the best for RTS... but this is really easy to operate! The hardest thing to do is to "click" on a small target......

I played Red Alert 3 at a friends on the Xbox 360 and the controls were fairly easy to use. Controls are much better for RTS's these days, much better than they were on the PS1 :).

DV im the same, FPS is now my favorite type of game and it was strategy. After playing the demo on the 360 its still a must for me though!

Hopefully I will enjoy this as much as i enjoyed RTS games in the past!

I tried the demo of this on the Xbox 360 and I really enjoyed it so I may actually get this for the PlayStation 3 as it has some extra stuff and also trophies are always a bonus.

Red Alert's plot is so twisted and effed-up, that I can't explain it well enough in a forum post. But I'll try, just for you Marf, as best as my memory serves:

Albert Einstein has developed the time machine in post-WWII time. He wants to use the time machine to kill Hitler and stop WWII and all the death and destruction it causes. They kill Hitler, but as a result, the Soviets become a huge superpower, invade Europe under Joseph Stalin, and a WWIII-esque scenario occurs between the Allies and the Soviets.

Then in RA2, the war continues. The Soviets perform a full scale invasion of the US and other Allies territories. The Allies eventually fight back and push back the Soviets and invade Moscow.

In RA3...

Soviets decide to go back in time and kill Einstein. They do that successfully but they spur the formation of the Empire of the Rising Sun (Japan), a brutal, technologically superior opponent. WWIII begins and from there the chaos that is RA3 ensues.

I know nothing more than that. Please correct me if I'm wrong, lol.

I am a huge fan of Command & Conquer, Red Alert being one of my favourite games of all time. I have all the old games for PC, but now my laptop won't do anymore for the newer games, so I guess I'm stuck with playing Red Alert 3 on the PS3.

Not the end of the world though. Let's just hope the controls are better than they were back on the N64. That was horrible.

Same, my computer isn't good enough for it for one. And second I don't think I have enough room, my two favourites from C&C:Decade are probably Renegade, but I did play the first C&C as if my life depended on it before C&C was bought by EA, it has to be my favourite, the Special missions make it better too!
