I was gonna do a thread like this! Great minds think alike, eh Liam!

A few of my mates and my girlfriend came to the conclusion one day that my rugged good looks made me appear 'German'. Now I don't know what your typical German looks like, but they claim it's probably my blue eyes and strong jawline that does it!

Anyway, the natural evolution of nicknames took it from German to germ, and it sort of stuck. Wierd, I know, but I've grown fond of it and it's only used by my girlfriend and a couple of my closest mates, so it's got a kind of sentimental value to it as well.

As for the 1984, not only is it the year I was born, but also a reference to my favourite book. ;)

Mine is my name, interesting eh :D

Jr is a long standing joke between me and my friends, cut my name from Richard to Richie and put them together, and there you go. Ironic because I'm the tallest of everyone :S

im a big beatles fan so when i created my socom 2 account it stuck, alot of my friends now call me pepper in the real world so it has been pretty successful, the uk bit is because i remade my account and had to add something (nobody calls me uk so that part has not been as successful but there you go)

but also a reference to my favourite book. ;)

Yeeah, 1984 is one of my favourite books too! Fahrenheit 451 is better though.

I got mine by just looking around my computer area for a name when it was the first time I needed one for my friend's forum. This was years and years ago. I wanted something different and not something with my name or numbers, and then I saw the game 'Frank Herbert's Dune'. I've never actually played it, or read the books, but I liked the sound of Dune. I also think of it as 'sand' cause of sand dunes, and the beach which I like to go to. (yeeaah, sounds so manly haha)

It started out as XxDunexX with those stupid x's to make a pattern or something, cause that was the thing at the time. Then i didnt want that, so i just made it something my own with just the 'xx' and then just 'DUNE', all in capitals cause I think it looks neat.

Sooo, it was pretty much just a personal choice to make my name the way it is, but changing it over time..

...yeup, blabbering on about nothing. YAY 1984!

Needed a name for a new Need for Speed Underground 2 save so i looked on the back of my m8's Garage Anthems 2005 CD case and saw Delinquent so i put it in leet and just stuck with it.

Deathvein
05-09-2008, 07:06 AM
Me and my mates of mine made a skateboarding film back in '04, titled Deathvein, which was a parody of a local rollerblading video titled Redvein.

When I was trying to come up with a good gaming alias a couple of years ago, I couldn't think of anything, but when I saw that Deathvein was available, I took it!

Mine is "the", with the first part of my name, with "ster" added on, followed by 123. I don't know why. But there you go.

Noscaasi
05-09-2008, 07:59 AM
Mines just my surname backwards... yer i have a weird surname :P. Seems to confuse people on headset... People cant seem to say it :S. On NFSPS some guy was convinced it was NosCassi and was really stressed about loosing to a girl, i was gonna mock him but realised id have to talk in a girls voice to keep it up and didnt fancy that.

Oh and i cant belive Deathvein wasnt taken, you must have got your PS3 pretty soon after release!

I first used this name in some television phone txting service on the Game Network, when it was still on air. I needed something quick, so as I was playing Street Fighter Alpha round a mates house, I chose Akuma and robo-fied him and added the 'tron' at the end. Used it for everything since...especially as no-one else has it! yay.

I got mine from the PS1 game 'Legend of Mana'
I was originally using 'Grimm Death', but I found it to be problematic on websites that didn't allow spaces, so I opted for a shorter, 1 word name!

Mine comes from what I was called at school 'Eza' and then just my date of birth, a bit boring but I use it all over the place so it's easy to remember.

Stuies my name and I support Everton so put bluie on the end cos it ryhmed!

Tried to think of something a bit more 'hardcore' but couldnt and stuiebluie stuck. It's quite a friendly name so Ive grown to love it. I'm amazed than many online players can't pronounce it as I think it's quite easy!

mine is just my name with 2 more y's and 123. That normally isn't my user, ps2madawoolfie is but I couldn't use it on my PSN for some reason, and I decided to have it as my user on here to avoid confusion. The story is that i was mad about ps2 and my nickname used to be woolfie and 'a' is the first letter of my name. :)

steedster
07-09-2008, 06:49 PM
My surname is steed so add 'ster' on the end and what do you get??? As for my psn name i just wanted something quick to play cod4 with so it has no meaning.

In rl, *Apparently* I'm always telling people how they should be living their life, so it kinda started as a joke between friends - they'd say 'Here we go, he's preaching again..' etc. It was meant as sarcasm but I actually liked it so it stuck. I tried to register it when I picked up my ps3 but someone had already stolen it (even though I picked it up a week after launch!) - So I stuck my postcode on the end.

I've also got a tattoo of my postcode on my wrist. :). It's a thing where I'm from..

YinYangAngel comes from this idea i had for a book or comic if i could ever cure my lazy and write my ideas down. Spearmint-R33
07-09-2008, 09:04 PM
My username on the motoring forums is Spearmint which stems from my love of regularly visiting 'Spearmint Rhino' strip club back in my early days of the RAF.

I couldn't use it on the PS3 as I registered it ages ago when I first heard about the PSN network, as it was a year before I actually got a PS3 I inevitably forgot the password so I decided to add 'R33' on the end which is the model of Nissan Skyline that I own.

Eh, throughout elementary and middle school my two favorite bands were Nirvana and Sublime.

I molded the two names together once while needing to make a username and found out that pretty much no site has that user name so I never had to worry about having to add numbers at the end.

Darth_Eskimo

Kind of an odd story...
It was originally Darth_Saiyan // Darthsaiyan (When I used to game on Maple Story) I was obsessed with Dragon Ball Z and I really liked the title 'Darth' from Star Wars so I thought I would 'fuse' them (Joke intended). Then for some apperent reason, my sister started calling me 'Eskimo', I thought that name to be pretty cool so I decided to use it as well. It appeared that Darth_Eskimo_Saiyan just wasn't cool so I had to bin Saiyan :(
I was left with 'Darth_Eskimo', I really liked that name so I started to use it..
And when I got my PS3, that became my User...

That is the origin of my name..I hope you enjoyed that unnecessary long story....

pretty long backstory here;

back in secondary school I had an ongoing feud with my Religious Education teachers (stemming from my loathing of religion), so in satire I invented my own batshit crazy religion with the principles of there being a parallel planet with two castes (the surface was inhabited solely by naked women, and the underground was ruled by hideous alien harbingers of death, who feasted on the women)... my banter on the topic peaked during my art lessons where I'd joke about the mythos and whatnot with a few friends, and the parallel world was quickly dubbed "planet XXX" (based on the disputed 10th planet in our system, officially dubbed "Planet X" before being stricken from the record, soon followed by the declassification of Pluto... boo!)... I dubbed he inhabitants X'eons to begin with (pronounced "ecks-ee-on")... and that went on to become my net handle, though I toyed around with the spelling a lot...

Over time the mythos of the "exion religion" changed to a far more sinister, but mature and fleshed out volume of work, and "planet XXX" changed to the more appropriate title of "Exakka", "Exxaka", or various other spelling variations of the same word.

At about the turn of the millennium (2000) I signed up to gamers.com where they had a community where users could create their own forums and communities all competing for a space in the top 50... was awesome... but the name I chose was "ex-ion"...

over the years it's changed from "X'eon", "Xion", "ex-ion", "lord_ex_ion" and so forth, occasionally having the suffix "zero" (eg "exion.zero"), usually due to name restrictions and whatnot... I choose the zero as it's my favourite number...

my occasional menacing aside I feel as though I'm fairly neutral as far as morality is concerned (whatever value morality has), so being neither good, nor evil I rest squarely in the middle... just like Zero... which lies at the perfect center of the infinite... pretty egocentric, eh?

but yeah, that's the origins of exion.

My real name is Xander, and my friends call me X.
PSN wouldn't let me use X as an ID, so I made it 'X verder Nix' which means 'Just X' (litteraly it means 'X Nothing Else')

Tolkamas
10-09-2008, 09:30 PM
Well, my name is Thomas, about 7 years ago I needed a RP name on a forum. At the time I was a big Lord of the Rings fan. (The films had come out.) Tolkien + Thomas = Tolkamas.

That's the story!

Best of all, I've never been ANYWHERE were Tolkamas was taken. So none of youd better take it on anything! I will not be amused!
