Boy gets life for PlayStation murder

A 16-year-old boy who murdered another boy of the same age in a row about a PlayStation has been locked up for life.
Shane Boyd stabbed Conor Black to death outside a house party in August last year.
Boyd, who had an anti-social behaviour order (Asbo) imposed on him when he was just 12 and had breached it three times, is also understood to have a conviction for assaulting a police officer.
Judge Clement Goldstone QC, sitting at Manchester Crown Court, sentenced Boyd to life, to serve a minimum of 11 years before he can be considered for parole.

to be honest looking at his past records you can see he was no good and this is the sort of stuff the daily mail thrive on.
But how can you kill someone over a playstation argument its stupid.

LoL I completely agree with banning volcanoes but I think the ban on murderous people has failed so far. Life imprisonment? So he's out on parole in what, 5 yrs?

No matter what console it is the conclusion will be consoles / games are bad and cause violence among people. Ahem sorry to get on my high horse as I do lol but this is a really pathertic argument from those against violent games and such. The fact the boy had an ASBO, got behaviourial problems, drinking problems, hangs out with the wrong crew, oh and dont forget the parents in this, my point is its not games or consoles that make people act the way they do its other factors as well. Just wish those that are trying to ban games or constantly complaing about violent games would get a grip.

This boy had previous convictions and ASBO's, the argument may have been over a Playstation but the boy dealt with his 'problem' just how he would deal with other problems he faces in life, through violence. A broken home and other events in his life have triggered this, not the fact he played his games console for hours on end.
