I know of this site, someone informed me earlier today.

All I'll say is I doubt it's legit - it most probably involves some hacking of sony's server. If it is legit then it's a great effort he's gone to to develop the stuff to auto update and my respect goes to him - but it's not feasible for us - we have 13,000 members last time I checked and each PSN user only has a max of 100 friends - no way are we making tonnes of accounts.

We are in contact with SCEA about possibilities of improving our system, hopefully if we get somewhere then it will be better for all, but PS3Stats' method just is not feasible for a site of this size.

I understand, but contacting SCEA would be good

If you would like to have your PS3 Trophy-Stats listed here, simply turn on your Playstation³ and add the User "Battletracker" to your Buddylist. Your Stats should appear within a few hours hours on our website! I have to accept your request there and manually update your stats here.

Read it an weep guys. He manually adds the info from your PS3 profile.

Also, about Sony relasing any type of API or public access to the info servers, forget about it. They'll be updating their PIDs to include trophy info.

Yes, he manually updates, but not trophy by trophy - I'm sure he has developed tools to make it much quicker and easier. It's still not something we could feasibly use.

He's probably capturing the packets being sent to the PS3 and exporting them, still, its all manual work.

Yea, wonder how he'd cope once he gets 100+ people signing up a day.

Esecially since the frends list is limited to 100, and i expect he'll never update the information of old members anyway.
