Given my latest blog (See: Below), I wondered what your current views are on the ongoing Israeli-Gaza conflict, as well as the recent public 'outrage' at Prince Harry's alleged 'racism' towards a fellow soldier?

What i don't understand is the media reaction. I saw an interview on TV where a man said "There is absoloutely no reason for such offensive language to be used in any situation"

But it's still fine for a black person to say the "N" word to eachother

As for the Gaza situation, i don't know much about the resons for it so i wouldn't know what to say about it, but i don't know why the civilians have to suffer either way.

As I said in my blog post, Harry didn't use the (usually highly offensive) term 'paki' maliciously, nor did the person who it was aimed it take it as such. It was just an in jest term of endearment, the tabloids seem to be devoid in understanding to concept of 'context'.

I just think it's a story blown way out of proportion by Daily Mail readers. I like to call it Andrew Sax syndrome.

If the apparent "victim" didn't take offense then all is well.

I have called my cousin a 'Paki' loads of times (he is half cast) and he didn't really care about the word so i think people just go over the top when they find it offensive and hey when i talk about Paki in GTA on the bus sometimes i wonder why everyone is looking at me?

Haha, this reminds me today when, referencing a YouTube picnicface video, I said in a joking voice. 'Hey Ben, you hate Asians, don't you?' Not realising there were two Asian girls in front on him...

I guess though, that's a different kettle of fish really, as sarcasm and racism generally don't mix very often.

i dont give two shits whether harry didnt mean it to be offensive or not. that ginger inbred twat shouldnt be saying it publically. he wouldnt like it if someone called his grandad a plate smasher or his nan a kraut bitch. if your in the public eye you should no not to give them any excuse to find fault. sorry for any swearing i just hate the royal family so badly and hopefully they will someday be abolished. as for gaza-israel i see nothing wrong with what israel are doing, they have entered palestine to destroy a known terrorist group much like we did in afghanistan, so anything that makes the world a bit safer is ok by me.

He didn't say it publicly, it was from a private video from three years ago, some cunt 'friend' seems to have sold it to the News of the World for a hefty payoff.

So herding civilians into a building and shelling said building if perfectly fine and dandy? As well as the use of white phosphorous? Fuck human rights, so long as it's to 'stamp out terrorism'. Tell me, Nagisa, what exactly has been achieved in Afghanistan, really? We've not destroyed Al Qaeda, as far as I know, nor did have we/America been such gargantuan cunt holes with regards to the rules of engagement.

in afghanistan we've freed a lot of people from the fear and oppression of the taliban. which imo is worth going in. most people agree that this war was justified. iraq though was a different story that was clearly just for oil. and as for israel-gaza im sure if wales started to fire rockets at us then most people would want the english army to enter and stop them.

with regards to prince harry if it was said in private or not doesnt matter he's basically third in line to the throne of england and as such should no better than to use words like paki whether it was to a friend or not. even if the guy didnt mind im sure a lot of people from pakistan would find it hugely offensive. but hey im gonna criticise the monarchy whatever they do because i hate them so much.

wow i just made a comment about us british being racist now i see this god are you anti british or something

1. the comment was made in private to soldiers if you have ever been in the services you would understand that most of this comments are made messing around not saying they are right but 90% of the time there is never any offence intended

2. the royal family may not be perfect but they are a big part of the british heritage and hope they stay for a very long time because did you know something like 70% of british tourism is because of them so even though they cost alot they also help the british economy alot more

3. now israel and Palestine i dont really know what to say about this one this conflict has been going on for ever and i cant really see a end they are both as bad as one and other

if you were a working class catholic like me you would have a huge problem with the royal family. bloody usurpers of the throne, its the protestant monarchys fault that so many catholics were persecuted and killed. and as for tourism im sure we could find other ways to bring money in. we should seize all their assets and make em work hard for a living. long live communism. lenin had the right idea, get the monarchy against the wall and blow their fucking brains out.

That's highly, highly irrelevant, if you hate the monarchy then good for you, the point here isn't about the monarchy at all, personally I'm very mildly anti-monarchy, mainly because I see them serving little to no purpose nowadays.

The point is, regardless of whether it was Prince Harry or not, replace it with, I don't know, a figure of impartiality, imagine if say, Dermot Mernahan had said it, put him in the place so as to not cloud the burning hatred for the monarchy.

Was it offensive to the parties involved? No.

if dermot murnaghan had said it he would have been immediately fired from his job. its just hypocrisy that because he's a royal nothing will happen to him.
