10x trophy

ok ive tried and tried but which game mode is the easiest to get this trophy, and does any1 have any tips?

ive tried on arcade mode got to 9x but then died and it took me 15 minutes to get to it

I've managed to get to 10x multiplier.
I played it on easy, it took ages.
Pity it was before the trophies came out, just played now and got to 9x.
But I did get a new high score of 99,439,950 which puts me at 858 in the world!!!

I played it on easy, first attmept. :)
I started on the first planet, spammed the bomb when I was surrounded by a bunch of meteors or enemies. Got the trophy when I reached the fourth planet, phase 3.

i finally got the gold :D even got a silver whilst hehe!! finally woo!!!

took me loads of attempts to get this one, but it was satisfying towards the end!

my shield got knocked down on planet 4 phase 3, and there was loads going on on screen, Id been on 9X multiplier for ages and I was frantically shooting at green orbs hoping to get the shield back... instead, PING! gold trophy!

just need "token hoarder", "Late Boomer", "Shock and Awe" and "Brothers in Arms" now... but I'm at my parents house playing on a rubbish TV and I have no second controller, so the "Brothers in arms" is going to have to wait.

from my deductions though, it looks like the token hoarder trophy would be easiest to unlock on Nemain (3rd Planet) as those massive ice meteors drop a fair amount of tokens, and if you've been playing since Lave you should have weapons meaty enough to destroy loads of them in a short time, making boosting through 15 tokens less of a ballache.

its weird though. you boost through them and its like some dont realize youve gone over them. im trying at the moment. slowly grinding down my teeth...
ill tell you, its lucky this game doesnt have a box! :-p

The game's gone even harder for me now... I'm going for the "Shock and Awe" trophy, but the tube in my parents antique TV has gone so everything's awash with red, making identifying enemies and tokens an absolute nightmare!

I've managed 13, on the aforementioned planet, Nemain, but yeah... that's a tough trophy.

as for the expansion, whilst I'm not sure it's worth the asking price (I bought it months ago), it does add a lot of really cool modes... "Endless" is my favourite.

well, I find it's best to go for the bonus meteor, but before destroying the mass of green orbs with the blaster, destroy a few neighbouring meteors and allow then let rip, move alongside the tokens and try to lure them into a straightish line, then boost...

it's still tricky though, and I'm yet to get all 15 required tokens.

another strategy was to boost straight through the big green bonus rock without blowing it up. Thats what ive mainly been trying. And god... i just got 14. so unfair....

yay! I followed your advice about flying through the bonus clump... on Nemain.

(for anyone trying for this trophy, nemain is perfect as the bonus clump arrives early on on the first stage... try to leave lots of orbs floating about whilst you destroy the countdown orbs then destroy them before the bonus arrives so you have some tokens to fly into after boosting through the bonus.)

Managed to get the 15 tokens on planet 5 phase 1, loads of big ice asteroids and a bonus asteroid right at the start.

to get the x10 multiplier, its basically dont die till the last phase of the game.

All I can advise is take it slow, avoid unnecessary risks and try to maintain a shield, also vary your attack patterns using bombs and boosts when applicable, I had to retry this one loads... you should be able to unlock it by the 4th planet if you don't die... and every time you meet your demise, quit and retry...

since unlocking the trophy Ive reached the 10X multiplier a few times.

Well, I tried again today and got to 7x but I only got to the second planet by then. Do you really need to go so much farther just to gain another 3x?

for token hoarder u should just go on the second planet where the bonus meteor comes in the first phase and just keep tryin to get them then

Man, each time I breeze through and then I die in the middle of Phase 2 - Planet 4. =/ It's so unfortunate, lol.

Token Hoarder is not too hard though. I got mine on Planet 2 since there's a bonus in the beginning. I just let the tokens that appear while it's counting down trail me and then I boost right through them and the bonus rock.

I got another 10x multiplier today... no reward for it other than that great sense of satisfaction in beating everyone's score in my friend list, but that's enough for me :D

it's purely a case of survival... and some luck!

Me too, have gotten x9 so many times, and I get so ANGRY when it happens, seems that getting to x5 is fairly easy, you can often do that on the first planet, then it becomes way harder, even if you melt a entire gold asteroide it doesn't give you a multiplier, seems they become more random from there on, at least I haven't found any system in it.

You can get up to x6 on the first planet, and you wont get x10 until at least the 4th.

Tip: Conserve your bombs!

For the first two planets, just destroy bomb ships and collect the bombs. Don't use any, because you'll need them for 3 and 4!

I took it because there's a certain phase on the fourth planet that constantly drops a ton of rocks onto you, along with the enemy turret things that fire the purple blobs, and I was shieldless. :)

Aside from the obvious getting-a-bit-overcrowded situation, I'll try my best not to use bombs until the turrets start coming down. I hate those things. I'll try and boost through aq few, and get to a point where most of them are visible at once, then use a bomb. It gets really difficult to see their bullets (what else would you call them) when you're constantly focused on the rocks, blue mines and red snakes around you. I know they can destroy rocks, but more often than not they'll just hit the big rocks, splitting them into smaller rocks, making your life even more difficult. Way too much hassle, it's easier just to sweep as many as you can with a bomb. It's the only way you get good times too.

Sometimes when you are surrounded, equiping the gold melter and twizzling the right analogue stick around will sometimes kill all enemies, depending on how strong your melter is or how weak the enemies are. It is a good way to save bombs. Also if you see a ship token leave it to degrade to a sheild if you dont have one, when you lose a sheild the multiplier doesnt reset.

Got my 10x trophy tonight after 2 weeks of trying. Mighty pleased! Now I just need Shock And Awe and Late Boomer.

Which one should I tackle next???
