With loads of other threads slagging this game off, are there any voices out there who DO actualy like it?

Who gives a crap if its not oblivion. its a different game! Theres fun in this game just surviving! Waliking round with dogmeat, scrounging for food and ammo gives the game a feel like a scene from i am legend. Your on your own, and just because "its not as good as oblivion" doesnt make it any better or worse.

Ok, looking back that does not make sence. But thats not all...........

I was playing it while was writing it. and, just after doing a few quests i hit lvl 20. Thats why i now HATE this game. why the hell does it put a lock at lvl 20? why not do the same as oblivion? i now have no incentive to play it, i look like an arse cause i just sang its praises and i spent money on a game when i could have got something else.

Trophy patch or trade in im afraid

to me the game is phenominal since I couldn't get into Oblivion and w/ FallOUt 3 being a form of a possible future it has interested me more

yeah so it stops at 20, it makes you think more wisely about which abilities you want to choose

plus i think this game is amazing, yeah do have a good point about it not being like oblivion, as this IS FALLOUT NOT OBLIVION, just because its made from the same developers doesnt mean there going to create a different game the same as another

and to another thing said in another thread, "it looks dull" well what do you think it would look like if nukes had just hit, i dont think there would be much colour left

I love it, even with all the freezing problems. I like more than Oblivion, which I only played through once. I'm on my second play through of this, still finding new things, and I will probably play it through again when trophies are added!

I have slagged it off quite alot, but that's because I was so expectant of it. I expected an Oblivion with guns and more quests.

It is a good game, just not as good as it could have been.

I bought this yesterday and have been playing it non-stop since ten am this morning! It's an amazing game with tons of stuff to do, i've barely touched the main story line.

The only bug that i've encountered is where the game freezes for a couple of seconds whenever you receive a message or friend alert and that can be easily resolved by turning them off (they ruin the atmosphere on a game like this anyway).

has anyone played the original Fallouts on PC? if so is Fallout 3 comparable to them.

I've always considered the Fallouts series the most exciting RPG games I've ever played.

I love Fallout 3, fantastic and immersive sandbox ARPG. The tech and gameplay is a bit better in Fallout 3, but the mythology, world, and colors in Oblivion better.

Played the game for about 5 hours and ive got to say they made the perks in the perk system way to easy to get.

The Lvl 20 cap is really the most stupid thing they ever did. Come on i wanted fallout to last for a very long time like in the oldies where you could max out all stats and skill points. With lvl 20 thats just impossible.

The game should have been able to have 2 additional companions who follow and help you out (with there own special traits).

How in the world could they have made the game like this is beyond me.

I Guess buying the license from Interplay gave them the right in making the game this short-lived, so i hope that Interplay manages to complete the Fallout MMO till 2012 so they can maintain the exclusive rights of there property otherwise bethesda controls the Fallout IP forever.

I had Fallout Tactics on PC, used to waste days on it. Loved it! I bought Fallout 3 on release day and didn't know what to expect. But it is pretty much the same apart from first person shooter and the open world.

In Fallout Tactics you could control a group of 6 people and had set missions. Fallout Tactics was more like a birds eye / isometric gaming style also set in a wasteland.

The only thing that has annoyed me with Fallout 3 is the fact that the trophies didn't come out with the game as it's such a huge game! I spent about 30 hours on it then trophies came out I was like GRRRRR. I would have practically all of them by now!

I got this game on the release date, got home to play it & i was gutted that i just spent £40 odd on it. it's an awful game i just cannot stand it, iam shocked it got awards. Sorry i feel this way about it, its slow & boring. everyone will feel different about this game.

I think you do need alot of patience to play this game. There's not as much action as Call of Duty for example. It's more of an exploration game. One thing that does annoy me is that your always running out of ammo and it's hard to get hold of/find any.

yeah but i geuss that it just makes you think which target to kill and which one to run away from, i like that element kinda like survival, wait i think the game is based upon that isn't it

I liked this game, despite having a lot of issues with it.
I loved the originals, and cannot help make comparisons back. When you do this, it pales in comparison. When you compare it to Oblivion, you'll find that its scope dwindles a bit.
But, if you play the game for what it is, which is very much so a Bethesda game, it's enjoyable.
The level cap was a good idea, because it prevents the game from getting too easy, and it makes certain places difficult at low levels. However, Bethesda needed to slow down the leveling, considering how many locations and side quests there are. It doesn't take much to reach that cap before discovering even a quarter of the locations and getting halfway through the main quest with several sidequests left.
All in all, a very enjoyable game, though. I've spent a lot of time on it.

I'm going to be starting my new game tonight to get my trophies. Shouldn't be too hard as I've pretty much done half of it before!

Fallout 3 is one of the best games i've played this year, i'm a big fan of the old fallout games, and this game does deliver.

I am very happy with it. It takes a little while to get into but now I have im hooked. Played 24 hours and barely scratched the surface.
