How are people affording all the games with trophies??

Hi,

I am just starting a thread to see how many games people buy, I see a lot of people are playing various games with trophies and not completely completing them.

I like to only play 2 games at a time, otherwise i just keep swapping, i've done well with Drakes Fortune.

My other questions is how often do u buy games, do u have jobs, how do u afford psn games, how often do you play games.

I was made redundant, so i have time to play games, however at the moment, i cannot afford any new games, i am getting LBP for my b'day and hopefully scrambling money to buy COD5.

But i was just wondering really! I love this site, its my new addiction, same as obtaining trophies :)

I rent most of mine, buy big games which i know i'll play over and over, rent the others! Saves alot of cash!

Where do you rent them from?? I am thinking of doing that, how long do they allow you to rent it for? I would need about a month. Also how much does it roughly cost?

i just trade in my games and just by second hand games which is easier but i tend to buy games every couple of weeks if i have the money

I also have a job but i dont recommend that.

I buy all my games, rent the ones I am unsure of.

I can tell you that in the past 2 months I have bought 6 games. (BIA:HH, SR2, FC2, MC:LA, QoS, LBP). :D

And I get a steady income, it's not much, but it lets me buy games. :D

Just wondering as i'm seriously getting addicted to trophies, if it wasn't for trophies, I wouldn't of cared about Crushing mode in Uncharted.

I still have to complete the rest of my Tomb Raider collection, which is 4, 5, angel of darkness and legend.

I also have to complete 20-25 ps2 games i have, because they just sit there otherwise.

I think once i'm happy with getting through them, I will try renting games, especially the car ones, i'm not too big on them.

I buy quite a few, buying about 8 during October - December period. I work now but back when I was playing the PS2 I had very little income due to college so I could only afford one game every month.

Get my mummy to buy them :P.Umm, i just route around and find stuff i could sell. And then once you have quite a lot of money in games, you can keep selling them to buy new games for a steady supply. Damn i've just realised how much ill be spending between lets say Sepember/October - December just on games. Probably around £350. But i allways sell games i don't play and have completed, and you don't lose too much, especially if its a big, well-known game. :D

Im not a fan on renting games. Most of the Trophies are time consuming anyway and i would hate to be close to getting Platinum and then having to trade it in.

I was made redundant to and am going to college as a mature student now, best thing ever, I'm broke too though. Buy one and keep trading it back in (My GF has wii fit and Im gonna trade that in when she gets bored hehe)

I can afford games whenever I want but Ive stopped buying loads because I dont get time to play many (Soul Caliber, PES2009 have hardly been played more than 5 times between themprobably because they have no trophies!!)

Like the OP I like to only concentrate on two games at a time (Currently LBP & BFBC)

Unfortunately I can afford games because I work which coupled with a 2 year old duaghter and some semblence of a normal life means I dont get enough time to play them.

My problem isn't 'affording' the games, it's finding time to play them. With working, and trying to get my own site started it's very time consuming. I'm moving to a '1 game at a time rule', and not buying new games until I completely beat the ones I have.

Just have to see how long I can keep that up.

I have 2 more tomb raiders on PS1 to get through and a Ninja game. Then i have about 20-25 PS2 games i need to complete.

I have completed Uncharted, whilst playing Tomb Raiders. I am also nearly completed Metal Gear Solid 4, which i dont think should be a game at all, but a film definitely.

As for new games, there's so many i want. I also need a job lol

I work so my problem is finding time to play games! quite often I'll trade in old games I know i won't play again. I'm trying to at the moment stick to two/three games on the go at once and do everything.
