Yes, I did not complete my business studies coursework and for that I received a U for it :) I did not do well in school I am afraid I think I got 3 Cs and two Ds I can't remember what subjects though I think it was... German C English Literature C English Writing C Maths D Science D I think that's what I got anyway. I did the best in my family... lol you don't wanna know what my brothers/cousins got :S

well this is going back a fair few years, my GCSEs were far from amazing... I was predicted As in my English classes, but messed up the exams (there was a section in the back of the paper that I didn't notice) and ended up getting Bs or something. Maths I scraped a C through fluking my exams (I had the lowest recorded grade for my coursework in the history of the school :D), and ended up getting Cs or Bs in most of my classes. except RS, I ended up getting an X for not turning up to the exam.

Don't worry too much about the results you get for your GCSEs, if you plan on studying A-levels then your GCSEs become obsolete, (your A-levels become obsolete once you reach university)... just relax, and take the results as they come ^_^

My brother got barely any GCSEs, but managed to get through college and is now on the verge of being a stage manager/roadie for big bands.

Just get 4 Cs and you can do A-levels at least that's the way it was a few years ago 4 Cs is easy I almost did it without even trying you guys should be able to do it easily, I studied about ummm never.

GCSE's?! Woah, that really takes me back lol.

I dropped out of Secondary school after year 10 so can't really relate to the nerves you've got atm. I was chosen for early entry in year 10 so managed to walk away with four of them (English, maths and science) - the BARE minimum I needed to get into my multimedia course at college. I did two years of that, got my diploma (with a distinction! :).. Which i have never made use of..) and went on to work in retail. I started off in retail as a regular joe sales assistant and just basically worked my way up. Within four years i was the youngest store manager in my region and i've just been promoted to manager coach, so i help train all the new up-and- coming store managers. It's hardly what i pictured myself doing but it pays well and i actually enjoy it. The point i'm making is that qualifications aren't everything - as long as you're motivated enough to get somewhere you can. It just takes some patience, a bit of hard work and a positive attitude.

Though I wouldn't ever dream of recommending anyone do the same (I know a lot who did and weren't quite as fortunate..) I will say that you shouldn't stress too much as GCSE's aren't that important. Just aim to get what you need for college and take it from there - you'll find college a lot easier as you'rem specialising in something you actually want to do. After that it's up to what you put in.

Coursework aint a big deal, except in english. Besides, getting A-B grades in coursework is excellent, man! Sounds like you'll be fine. I get my A-level results back soon, a week before you get your results, I'm kinda worrying about them but not much. As long as I get into uni I'm a happy bunny, and with the points system and what I have already all I need is 3 D's and a D for my AS-level, so I'm pretty much in.

ha! sounds like Ive got a pretty similar post-secondary school MO to Preacher!

except there was a year of fannying about on other courses and being indecisive prior to me doing multimedia... Then I hit barwork and waitering for a few months, took a scholarship in Eastern Europe for 3 months where I was an art teacher/helper in various summer schools for rich kids, then came back, did a year or so of retail work...

It was crappy enough doing retail to really encourage me to do university!

yeh coursework is definitly a major factor I got an A for my graphics coursework back in the day and then the exam was so long and boring (and the fact I was sitting there in agony with my left arm in a cast from trying to karate kick my sister in the head after jumping from 8 steps up and landing on it...:undecided:)

I kinda got halway threw the paper and stopped and just rew on the back and I came out with a C so yeh definitly a big part.

but this was back in 2002 you guys have it easier now anyway I think if you turn up your lready on a B grade!

but i was a bit of a slacker when i hit year 8 onwards :P

it's a well known fact that GCSEs are getting easier, which is why we're one of the most uneducated unskilled countries in the world! </doom mongering>

But that's because we're playing more games instead! :D Or maybe it's because we're becoming a chav nation, who knows.

hmm, as much as I want to defend my hopeful future career, yes, you're probably right!

What's more, most games are stupidly easy nowadays so we're not even "good" at that any more!

Gimme some megaman marathons!!!

As for the chav-nation... I sorely agree...

And thus I pray for rain!
