yeah it totally sucks balls. i've been branded a nerd for years, but don't care infact it's a compliment. they can't game as well as you so just slag it off. i got a massive gamerscore on x box( well fairly large 36000 odd) and i wanna try and keep it the same with my trophies. i agree it's a hobby other people have their hobbies we have ours so live and let live. you should definately keep going for trophies. why comprimise something you love because of a few idiots.

don't know buddy it's a weird one. it's been like it for years. what i find funny though is you speak to these gamer bashers and they're the ones who don't shut up about what they did on cod4 or what ever game is in at the time. unfortunately it'll always be like this ( i think) thats why it good to have a solid community like this one.

Gaming is slowly turning a corner now. I run a pub and have been gaming for years, used to be that you wouldn't tell anyone you spent your spare time playing PES or Final Fantasy, now I can have a conversation with almost anyone 18 - 26 (Same ages as me) and they will have at least some knowledge of whats going on in the gaming world.

A lot of guys who come in either own or have played on a some sort of console in at some point and can hold a descent discussion over COD4 or GTA4, admittedly not at the top of our voices. A few more years and the next generation are gonna be even more into games than we are, grow older and see it as a fairly normal pass time.

by "no life" they mean "no social life" which i disagree with ....gaming is an activity 4 sum ppl and a hobby 4 the next....i know a guy that bought the wii instead of ps3 so he wouldnt be slagged 4 sitting in all day just pushing buttons....if its ppl on psn its cuz theyre jealous or retarded cod4 people who r on lvl 43 with 13days playtime,and if its in ur "social" life it's either cuz they dont know u ,dont like u or are like u.....well now i'm jus rambling on ,long story short keep gaming,if we got paid 4 it like football it'd b a diffrent story,it shud be a sport.....i'll jus cum back if i hav sum important 2 say.......btw,sum1 shud make a philosophical thread,dat'd be cool,i luv dat stuff

Ignore them. That's what I'd say. I enjoy gaming and computing. I spend loads of hours each day on both. And i'm happy. I know that when I finally find a job, I won't have as much time to spend with my laptop or PS3, but I know I will be able to afford a better laptop, and more PS3 games. So i'll be even happier.

As for people adding you on PSN. I get that now i'm an admin. I get around 6 invites a day. I ignore the ones I don't regonised, and add the ones I do. You're awesome at gaming, so you shouldn't be put off by people saying "You have no life". They have no life because they're jealous that you're succeeding in something you enjoy. What do they succeed in apart from being annoying?

Anyway. That's my view.

These jerks are just jealous. They may spend less time gaming, have fewer trophy supported games or just be less skilled than yourself.

The "no social life" stigma must stem from old school single player games before online.
Xbox's online and now playstation's are definately changing that stereotype.

Be proud. Everybody here understands the effort that's gone into unlocking all your trophies.

i think peoples idea of gamers is 10 years out of date, sure maybe back in the day gamers were maybe the no social life type that did nothing but game, but these days any sort of person plays games and i think that online gaming has realy helped i know people who i would never see as gamers playing COD 4 on 360 and loving it as well as girly gamers, there no longer as rare as they used to be its getting more common to see girls online now.

so in conclusion F*%# 'em they are jealous that you are ranked 2 and they are 35787 and something XD

yea but there are some freaks/ weirdos.. i cant tell you how many people randomly PSN me and just start shit.. its ridiculous... kids act like trophies are hard, i spent MAYBE 15 hours getting the bioshock trophies. i basically got them on a fri and sat, i was sick that weekend, and didnt go to the bar, so i just ran through it.. that game is amazing by the way. same with dead space, such a great single player.. but yea turtle, dont let them freaks get you down... idk your work/ school schedule, but gaming is nothing different than any other hobby. i could sit here and bash people that smoke cigarettes, but i wont, same with drugs, or alcohol.. at least gaming is legal, and your not contributing to the already decline in morals and values here in america.

i must have got about 7 msgs today from ppl saying i bum bf bc cause i have 30 trophies. do ppl not realise they were retroactive. even when i play a game without trophies i get msgs off everyone asking if its got trophies. am i not aloud to play games for fun anymore

why cause u have a lot of trophies do ppl assume you have no life. ps3 is one of my hobbies. if i played football everyday they wouldn't say i have no life. whats the difference, none if u ask. everyone finds something their good at and sticks with it. so why do gamers get singled out. everyone assumes your a jobless bum, single and still living with mummy. should i stop collecting trophies so ppl dont send me horrible msgs or should i carry on and be proud that i'm good at something.

It's the same as the 'Games as an art form' argument, in essence. I think it's because football is:
a) By the masses, for the masses
b) Physical exercise.

Gaming has the stigma of fat, lonely men and the PS3 has the worst for the console gamers. In actuality, it's no worse than being a film buff or a music lover (I happen to be all three :P), it's up to game devs to create truly, truly original games with gripping storylines to parallel films, I want a Pulp Fiction of the gaming world, or something as heart-wrenching as American Beauty.

To me gaming is lazy ;) you don't have to do anything to accomplish something except look ing at a screen. But thats whats so darn good at it, what else should i do when im at home? Watch TV you don't call us no lifes if we sit and watch TV all day gaming is fun =D

I think it's cause gamers tend to sit on the couch by themselves while someone playing football is actually out in the world playing as a team with people and making an actual physical effort to obtain their goals. Plus, it's a lot easier for the average person to get good at a video game than to get good at a sport.

Not that I agree with their comments. I really dig doing all sorts of things...it's just kinda how it is. Don't let it bother ya...It's better than sitting on the couch watching TV all day. Which is probably what the people making fun of you are doing.

they dont come with disk, u have to download a patch

well i am an extremly sporty person i play football and have represented yorkshire for athletics (not trying 2 show off lol, well actually i am). but i still love gaming, if people think u are a nerd 4 having trophies wot are they doing with a ps3 anyway just because u are better than them they get jealous and start with the name calling lmao.

That is another thing that annoys me. The way gamers can't be sporty. I captain my school's rugby team, sound like someone who is not 'sporty?

If you are as important as to have them give you their opinion on your life, that shows that they aren't as important as to get your opinion on their life...

Don't even talk trash... Let him talk it all he wants while he gets whooped by a pistol... (And peg him with a flashbang for me if you get a chance)
I actually took care of someone who talked trash by whoopin him with pistol-knife only... hardcore rules in crossfire with a USP-s with random ass perks that did nothing for me... (3-frag, sonic boom, eavesdrop) I wasnt using grenades as I mentioned... Got him 25-4 with him using AK-47, P90, M4, and .50 cal throughout the match.... He tried... He really did...

Then I blocked him............................................... ...........
