I was listerning to Kerrand Radio the other day and Dr Edgar Mitchell was a host on the show...
Dr Edgar Mitchell is a scientist that has worked at NASA for about 60 years and was the 6th person to walk on the moon (he spent above 9 Hours there)
After talkin about the moon for about 30 mins, Dr Edgar Mitchell then went on to talk about how aliens exist and have done for many eyars, and that the goverment is hiding it from us and he has actually seen the aliens...
this video on youtube shows the whole conversation...
http://in.youtube.com/watch?v=RhNdxdveK7c
and this is the kerrang host contacting NASA in regard with the topic

Anyone who thinks aliens don't exist is foolish tbh.
Whether they're visiting us is a different matter. I'm sceptical but it's not hard to believe, after all we're starting to reach other planets.

If there are indeed aliens I am surprised they have not destroyed our planet yet we are a planet of greedy violent savages if we ever became space bearing we would try to take over/destroy their planets why would these aliens if they do exist allow our race to continue? We are the scum of the universe.

Yeah but I mean obviously they know what our behavior is like now imagine if we had the power they do? Surely they know we will progress technologically throughout the ages and one day achieve space weapons that could wipe out their entire planet or destroy their ships if they don't destroy us they are not as intelligent as we think.

to be honest I'd imagine that an alien race would regard us with suspicion and intrigue rather than hostility... I mean why traverse the entire galaxy to find life only to destroy it?
Whilst I'm sceptical of this particular article, I most certainly do believe in aliens, out of sheer probability, as well as the fact that I have seen UFOs on about five separate occasions (once of which was relatively close up), and have other witnesses to back up my story ^_^ yay for not being crazy!
On that note, North Wales is definitely the place to be for UFO sightings... I live a few miles away from the infamous "Berwyn Incident", the UK's most famous sighting/crash/alleged recovery...

They could be having their own games consoles and shit out there. :D

I wouldnt imagine an alien planet being to dissimilar to ours. After all, organic life requires the same basic things, water, oxygen, sunlight etc. It would have seas, forests, deserts, mountains, rivers, etc. Whether the inhabitants evolved in a similar way would be a different matter.

one thing that advances in science has shown in the past decade or so is that life can exist in the most extreme of environments...
lobster-like creatures live right down in the bottom of our deepest oceans in volcanic events rich with deadly poisonous gasses at fatally high temperatures, scientists believe that there's (albeit basic) life on one of Jupiter's moons (which is covered by a huge ice coated ocean)... until we start understanding our own world and solar system better it would be an ignorant assumption to believe that our environment is the only one capable of supporting life....
A complex life-form could potentially be anything from the infamous little green men to a self aware mist of superheated helium...

No you misunderstand me germ1984 the earth is a beautiful magnificent planet I meant the inhabitants us humans we are not, we are ruining the planet with things such as nuclear/atomic weapons example nagaski and hiroshima and further nucleaur missle testing. Not only that but on going war where we retardedly kill eachother and for what? Where is the reason? Yes the earth is beautiful but I am sure the aliens are a more honorable species and do not fuck eachother over just for pieces of green paper.

Thats a very pessimistic view of humanity. Its a shame that our history is littered with acts of unspeakable cruelty, narrow-mindedness and selfishness, but believe it or not humans are capable of compassion, sympathy and kindness too! Im sure that if aliens did travel millions of lightyears to get here, they would at least notice that the majority of us are not the genocidal maniacs of which you speak.

hmm, I'm not sure where you heard that but I think you may be getting your terminologies wrong;
A Universe is essentially infinite space (or rather potential space, as it seems to be expanding), as far as I'm aware there is only one universe, disregarding multi-dimensional theories (which would essentially be parallels of this universe), which houses everything, from massive astral bodies such as galaxies, black holes, wormholes (theoretically), cosmic storms and a literally mind-frying amount of radiation, to relatively small things such as stars, planets, your friend's dog, you, me, trees, clams in the sea, etc... Just about everything you could think of exists in one way or another in the universe (if you want to get philosophical, then it can be argued that thoughts and imagination are just another tier of the universe, seeing as the thoughts are in you, and you are in the universe!).
What you likely mean to reference is galaxies, which are quite abundant... in fact seeing as our galaxy (the milky way) contains at least 100,000,000,000 (one hundred billion) stars (according to current estimations), and our galaxy is much smaller than many others, the assumption that Earth is the only planet capable of supporting life seems quite frankly retarded, unless of course you want to get religious here... which seems like the same thing to me right now. ¬_¬

I was having a conversation with some friends of mine last night as we were walking up a mountain in North Wales and the topic of UFOs came up...
What intrigues me is that two of them started talking about several "UFO"s they'd seen in the area a few weeks back, and stranger still, the descriptions they gave were near identical to what I saw a year ago (and the year prior to that), and I generally keep that story to myself so they wouldn't have known about my sightings...
the truth is out there indeed, lol!

I'll mention the two most poignant sightings;
the first one was as follows: Whilst walking down a mountain (for future reference, my parents own a house in the rural countryside, atop a mountain) I spotted something flying through the valley at ridiculous speeds, it would have been about the size of a fighter jet, if not slightly bigger, was a dark silver/onyx colour and was shaped like the fiesar class ship from Wipeout 2097 (looking more like a sled than a plane, with no wings). It made no noise as it flew past, and would have been flying relatively low, only about 50 meters or so away from me (though I was half way up a mountain). After the craft had left my field of vision (beyond the valley), about 30 seconds later, there was a massive sonic boom that consumed the valley, a massive roar like you hear from a jet engine, implying that the craft had been flying several times the speed of sound...
In that particular case I am more inclined to believe that it was an experimental aircraft being tested, as is allegedly quite frequent in these valleys.
Another occasion, I was walking up the same mountain with a lady-friend of mine, both of us completely sober, when I thought I saw a shooting star... trying to be smooth I pointed out the "falling star" when I felt a bit stupid... "wait, no, that's a plane!" I admitted, but as I watched I realised I was mistaken yet again... the light was moving like a disgruntled fly does, looping in really erratic unpredictable motions, and as I watched I noticed dozens more of the lights.
They looked to be about as far away, if not ever so slightly more, as most overflying commercial jumbo jets maintain, but no man-made aircraft I've ever seen or heard of moves like that.
What's more, unlike a plane, they shone a constant light, rather than blinking... though they did blink in synchronisation at intervals every few minutes (we watched them for about half an hour)... I've seen these lights a few times, though this was the most apparent. (other locations have included Cornwall and Cheddar Gorge, though my sightings so far have been mostly in North Wales (by a ratio of 3:2))...
I'd rather not get into too many specifics of what I saw though.

With regards to universes residing in black holes, I think you should lay off the greenery for a while mate.
As for the LHC (Large Hadron Collider), it is the largest and most powerful particle accellerator in the world, located on the French/Swiss border, and it's main task will be the discovery of the hypothetical Higgs bozon. Discovery of this particle would help scientists with questions regarding dark matter/energy, mass, fundamental forces and other mind boggling physics stuff, which in turn could help with theories such as the Big Bang. People have raised concerns that it could inadvertantly produce a mini black hole.
Oh well, no-one is gonna miss Switzerland. Except the Swiss.

Great thread guys! Keep it up! I'm a believer 150% aswell, mainly because I can't see that we are the ONLY planet that can house life anywhere! Im totally open to peoples views but the Christianity based Adam and Eve bollox takes the piss!!! Religion is good for 2 things. 1) giving people without hope something to grab hold of. 2) Causing wars!!!

It would explain why they have infinite mass like a universe and and like exion said underneath, swizz cheese, all universes sharing the same space, but not like parrarel just diffrent dimensions, and im not talking about the 11 dimensions.

Well you are right it does definitely go deeper, quarks and leptons. I assume that you are implying by 'god particle' a particle that all other particles are made up off? However Exion I do believe in the multiverse theory, even though their is really no evidence to back it up as it exists in quantum. Because it makes a lot of sense, generally people say the universe is expanding and outside of the universe is nothing... (wrong it's actually the absence of nothing technically) Which therefore within a human brain is comprehended as a limited space...their is always something bigger...So you see the universe is like a particle just on an even larger scale, and their is no reason to suggest that their couldn't be any other universe's out their (especially in the realm of quantum.) and their really is no way to prove this really, because different universes are probably unfathomable distances away from our universe, and would most likely have their own laws of physics....... but think of it this way... years ago humans thought their was just the earth, and the earth alone, then people comprehended the sun, the moon, and the earth, then the solar system, then galaxies, then the universe.... would it be such a big leap to say the multiverse next it is very logical if you think about it. On another note (using different multiverse theory)It is possible as well that aliens are not from other planets but are extradimensional, that may explain their humanoid characteristics of sightings, and would allow exception for vast space travel, they exist on another earth in another dimension.
also get this the universe is pringle shaped according to physicists lol

well this is perhaps a more off the wall thought...
perhaps we're looking at reality the completely wrong way...
Let's not forget the notion wherein perhaps we are all just aspect of a single conciousness.... the dream of something greater than all of us...
This is perhaps my pre-sleep rambling but bare with me...
when you dream, time loses relevance... you might dream a 5 second story in the space of 6 hours, or you might dream an epic 12 year saga in half an hour... I'll return to this point in a bit.
When you dream you might create characters, landscapes, elaborate histories, multiple personalities, physical rules, etc... though these things only exist within the context of your dream...
for example, if you dream there's a lion in your house, when you wake up that lion most likely won't be there any more, but that's not to say that the lion isn't real.
Within the context of your dream, the lion exists... Perhaps, within your dream, the lion is even self aware, perhaps it has feelings, a delusion of past history and a hunger for bananas...
so what I wonder is this... perhaps, and this is not necessarily a belief, so much as a possibility (which is a good fundamental practice for philosophy), we are all just the figments of another being's unconscious mind... all of our history, universe and culture has been the conjuring of an elaborate dream...
we could suppose a dreamer would be considered a god of his own thoughts... so if creationism really is the case of truth, the dreamer theory fits the bill quite nicely...
in any case... Im too tired to elaborate on this further, but it's food for thought...

If thats the case, it's an extremely vivid dream! Nice thought though, hadn't considered that one.

Or maybe our universe is just part of a huge game of marbles like the end of Men In Black! :)
exion

exactly...
I for one have felt remorseful having woken up from certain dreams, sometimes there's really elaborate worlds (in fact I plagiarise my dreams quite frequently for my university work)... so yeah...
one of my core principles is that nothing can ever be proved or disproved... call it a distrust of reality and lack of faith in my own perception.
You can go on about evidence forever, or point out "the obvious" like "an Orange is orange!" or "look and you can see", etc, but these could all be subsystems put in place in a neural AI that controls every aspect of reality (think The Matrix, its similar to what I'm implying)...
do we actually have thoughts or is it all scripted? you can question this all you like, but how do you know that your questions aren't scripted also... breaking the 4th wall, as it were. (characters in films, books and games often question their reality, as a tongue in cheek point of irony).
I'm digressing from the point of aliens completely, but how do you know space even exists? I'm getting preposterous now, but how many of you have actually gone out into space and seen it for yourself (as meaningless as that would be)... what's to say the world really isn't a tiny enclosed area and that we've been lied to our entire lives?
you wan't to imagine what nothing is? insofar as there's nothing outside of the universe?
take any game you like... let's say for example, Oblivion.... theres a massive area to explore, but once you get to the edge the world pretty much stops.... sure you can see mountains roll on for a while, but eventually, the designers would have stopped, and there would be nothing there... not empty space, nothing! I've not put that very succinctly but hopefully you get what I mean...
what if all of space and the universe is merely implied scenery just like those inaccessible mountains in oblivion?
then there's the variation in perception... what's to say what I see as "red" is what you'd see as "blue" but you know as "red"? Unless we swapped perceptions and eyes there's no way of telling if this is the case... but what I'm getting at is that if we all perceive things differently, what's to say that any of us are right?
enough of my off topic rambling!
