It looks like there is a new Burnout title in the works. A small bit of info about the new game, called Burnout Crash has been found on a social networking site and a classification board. EA and Criterion have yet to confirm this, but it looks very likely that a follow up to the amazing Burnout Paradise is in the works.

:D

Yeah, me too. Burnout paradise and NFS Hot Pursuit are the 2 best races i've played on PS3. Grid was good as well, so when Grid 2 comes out, think that'll be excellent too.

I believe the correct term to apply as a response to this information would be w00t. Although the name Burnout Crash is a bit odd. Isn't it somewhat stating the obvious?

probably to keep it simple lol burnout 2 point of impact. burnout 3 takedown. burnout revenge. burnout dominator and burnout paradise. simple but effective lol

Hmm. While I want to get all excited and stuff I'll reserve judgement until I know what type of game it is. At this point I'm craving more open world Paradise style goodness so another poor showing like Hot Pursuit won't sit well with me at all (ok game overall I guess but didn't really enjoy it like I was hoping to).

Burnout Crash may just be a working title that may change down the line. i'll be looking forward to hearing more details about this as they surface.

Paradise was okay, but 3: Takedown, Man, I lost so many hours on that game.
Crash could be a PSNetwork game, as nobody has even heard of it, and the eta of release is roughly 3 months.

Takedown was awesome but Paradise is still my favourite :)

Takedown was amaze :) Revenge was fun but a bit bland after its predecessor.
Paradise was a LOT of fun so I hope they do continue with open world gaming :D

i personally prefered revenge out of the lot and thought paradise was the one that was lacking, imo the open world killed the race tracks because they had to make all the roads connect in the end, despite putting the mountain roads in like its predecessors i still didn't get that rush u got from takedown or revenge, intresting how different are opinions are though, either way the series as a hole has been epic and this is great news to hear that another burnout is on its way.

The one thing they really improved with Hot Pursuit imo was making the AI actually take shortcuts. That was seriously missing in Paradise so you could trounce the AI cars easily just by taking shortcuts (though to be fair it wasn't exactly hard to win races in any case). If they make a new Paradise with improved AI that takes more varied routes and use shortcuts, AND add the airport that was originally going to be in Paradise I'll be in... well, paradise :D

Aslong as they give it up with the stupid catch up system which imo killed hot pursuit (offline atleast) same thing every race, pretty much stuck in the pack till the very end and then just use your boost and you win, major yawn.

its rumoured the game may be a downloadable title thats just an extended Crash mode like in Takedown and revenge, since Crash gave way to Showtime in Paradise.

i read that here - http://uk.ps3.ign.com/articles/115/1159198p1.html

wouldn't be too bad i suppose, something to keep fans happy until the next big Burnout? if you enjoyed Crash mode that is... i did... frustrating as it was at times.

Yeah, the total inability to actually maintain any sort of a lead in Hot Pursuit really annoyed me. It was almost entirely down to pure dumb luck whether you won or not in a lot of the races. Paradise wasn't challenging enough, Hot Pursuit is too random. I really hope Criterion manage to actually get a better balance going in whatever major release they come up with next.

I agree with jay, Revenge is one of the best games i've ever played (PS2 version) and I always thought Paradise was considered a dissapointment by most ppl. The sheer speed and joy of smashing cars on revenge was epic and the graphics hold up (and maybe look better) than paradise. Best graphics on PS2 easily, but it was the gameplay that captured something paradise couldn't match. It's a damn shame revenge didn't get a PS3 release coz I could sit and play it all day.

This is a great news. I am in the middle of Burnout Paradise and Hot Pursuit and loving them both.
