Sony has decided to delay its PlayStation Rewards program, and could potentially end up cancelling it entirely. The program was supposed to start next month once the beta had finished.
If the rewards program still goes ahead, it will reward loyal PlayStation users with PS Home content, avatars, themes and other stuff.
In a statement issued to Kotaku, Sony said, "After careful consideration and evaluation following the PlayStation Rewards beta, we have decided not to roll out the program to the public at this time.
"We remain committed to providing the best overall consumer experience for our users, and we will be refocusing our efforts in the near future to further developing PlayStation Plus and our other network services. We will continue to find innovative ways to thank our loyal and devoted customers."
It doesn't sound good on the rewards front. You never know it may happen, but doesn't look likely at the moment

Yeah same here, hopefully they won't let the idea die. But i will say this, it makes sense them not doing the reward thing when ps+ is going so well for them i am very close to giving in and buying it myself :O

It's a shame the rewards program may not go ahead, but you never know....it might still happen.
And don't listen to Simmy, PS+ isnt a waste of you money if it has things that you want! ;)

I'd rather buy the things I want and have them be 'mine', without worrying that I lose everything if I stop my subscription ;)

Thats one of the main things that puts me off Radiosity

For a start, DLC is yours. Secondly, if you re-subscribe everything becomes active again.
It costs only £40 a year...the same price you have to pay to PLAY online with the 360. And what you get far outweighs that £40 in downloads alone. I'm sure I would be in the £100+ mark by now with what I have got free with it!
Ok, so there may not be things you want...but to say it's crap just for that reason is ridiculous.

I agree with what your saying. However surely you should get to keep the PSN games you get afterall you have paid the subscription fee for it.
It's like paying for a magazine subscription and then expecting to send it back once you've read it.

It doesn't really bother me either way. I agree with what Simmy is saying.

Agree with AK, i got it last year and have easily saved double what the subscription is. If i can do that every year, then i'm happy

Jury still out with me whether PS+ is worth it. Some good points for and agains't here. I'm sure i'll jump on the bandwagon at some point.
On topic is such a shame about PS rewards, that did look cool and i've been watching it with interest.

I also agree with Simmy. I'm not interested in complex systems of 'subscribe to this, pay this, get THIS but not THIS, don't get to keep THIS...'
Back on topic I disagree with most peoples opinions on rewards.
There should just be: been an active PS3 user for however long and you get stuff like a one-monthly discount or whatever...
