Donated this morning as well... It wasn't much, but better than nothing and I have donated through other means over the past few days.

This is a nice idea. Now I don't mean to whinge or sound like a selfish prick but do you not think PSN (along with some game devs) could rustle up more than a theme to entice donations?
Look at PS+, they have "free" offers every week to get you to hand over dosh for a subscription.
Why not put up a free game for a donation? Or a game that you keep for 1 month when you donate.
Even a PS1 game or something.

I hope I don't come across like a prick that wants a free game, I just think PSN could sacrifice something and get more $$$

Personally I would rather donate of the goodness of my heart, as opposed to donating because I was "bought". I realize that even more people would donate if they got something more in return, but then I personally think the point of donating is lost. It costs money to give us free stuff and I'd rather Sony just send that extra cash directly to Japan, instead of giving it to us. It's not like we *need* even more free stuff, especially compared to countless Japanese people who need a darn roof over their heads.

I'm not trying to flame btw, I'm just sayin'.

Yea that's a good point, but the "point of donating" wouldn't be lost. The point of donating is surely to help the the Japanese, not to pat yourself on the back coz you donated no strings attached. A free cheap game would increase donations to help the Japanese, create good publlcity for Sony and give us dorks a little novelty perk to download. Nobody loses. A bit like the live-aid thingys where ppl turn up / tune in to see a concert for the benefit of Africa.
I see your point though, it's just I know donations would likely double if there was something of substance to download.
Anyways, God Bless Japan
