Medal of Honor was released in October 2010, to help resurrrect the declining series. After recieving mixed reviews, the hopes were slim for this game to be a success. But after selling more than 5 million copies, its little wonder that a sequel for the game is in development.
Danger Close Games are once again developing the sequel, as they did with the original. DCG are a sub-studio of EA Los Angeles. Not much is known about the sequel, except that it will carry on the tradition set by its predecessor.
The original title left the World War roots of the franchise and displayed early days of the ongoing Afghan war. The game followed Tier 1 operators, who are the elite commando group, and the forefront soldiers key to the US invasion in Afghanistan.
Many levels in-game boasted real-life engagements and battles. Moreover, the game was developed with the input of real-life ex Tier 1 operators.
The original showed a lot of promise and had many shortcomings. Lets hope many of these are addressed in the sequel, in order, to display the true potential of the game. Watch this space ladies and gentlemen...
