Who ya gonna call? Ghostbusters!
Oh yes, they are back in business. After a pretty good videogame release on the current gen of consoles, "USA Today" report has confirmed that a sequel is scheduled for next year. The sequel is named as "Ghostbusters: Sanctum of Slime" and will be a downloadable game hitting the PSN.
The report states that the game would support online of local coop game of upto 4 people and would function as a top-down view rather than a third-person shooter. The rookie introduced in Ghostbusters:The Videogame, will be making his appearance again in this direct sequel.
What would disappoint the fans would be that NONE of the actors are making an appearance in this downloadable sequel.
Wanako studios are handling the reigns of developing the game. Wanako studios are best known for their games - Assault Heroes and 3D Ultra MiniGolf Adventures franchises.
Atari and Sony are teaming up yet again to release the game, similar to what they did for the original Ghostbusters:The Videogame release. Thus, we can safely expect Sony to handle the European release of the downloadable sequel.
Although this is exciting news, the actors not being part of the sequel is very disappointing indeed...hope the game can live upto the much loved "Ghostbusters" name.
