Kazunori Yamauchi, head of Polyphony Digital, has revealed that the perpetually delayed Gran Turismo 5 has finally entered the manufacturing process ahead of its release this winter.
“The discs are being stamped as we speak,” Yamauchi-san told the chaps at Jalopnik.
Sony announced last month that GT5 would miss its intended November release date and had been pushed back to an unspecified time frame this holiday season. Originally it was thought we’d get a new date before the end of October, though this failed to materialise.
With the game having now gone gold though, expect a new launch date to be pinned on the hotly anticipated racer very soon. We’ll be sure to keep you updated on any developments as they break.
I say its about time.
