Spoiled by Fifa 09?

I just played the PES 2009 demo for the first time today after playing Fifa 09 since the release date and... I personally think PES is AWFUL. The player graphics are only passable during the 'cutscenes', the players respond in a similar way to, I dunno, Fifa 99? and the whole arcade-type setup makes me want to vomit 1up symbols.

Seriously though, I'm not even going into this based on any fan boy-preconceptions. The last Football (soccer) based game I bought was Premier League Stars.

Premier League Stars was one of EA's ill-concieved other football games. Can't remember much about it, but it was on the PS1, and was out in 2001 I think.

Hey, i've got fond childhood memories of that game... almost definitely nostalgia talking, mind.

I would attribute your dislike to Pro down to the fact you've not aplayed a football game since Premier League Stars. Pro has always been a game that took a good while to get into. Having only played the demo, following lengthy sessions on Fifa, you're bound to dislike it.

You are right that the graphics are piss poor - they alsways have been - but the gameplay and AI is excellent

That's what my mate Finno says but... if I dislike the demo then the point of the demo is sort of... null and void? I get that Pro Evo was meant to be the better of the two games prior to this year, which is the best Pro Evo to 'get into' then, i've heard 5?

Fifa 09 hasn't been ruled out for trophies and there is a lot of talk and petitions of them on the fifa forums. Incorparating them in is just made hard because of the tight development schedule in which yearly EA sports titles have to live up to.

The demo is the final build but give it time. It does take a good lot of games for the "penny to drop" with Pro. You're also missing out on the Master League wnad Be a Legend (although Legend is the same as the Be a Pro on fifa). Master League is fantastic.

the reason i dislike pro is because its scripted and too easy and this is the first year im not getting it fifa has definatly got better and this years is the most complete football game iv played
