Sony has warned its customers this week that they should not be pruchasing fake ps3 controllers. They explained that these look exactly like the original Ps3 controllers, but are very hazardous.
Sony went onto explain that these fake controllers have a tendency to ignite and in some cases even Explode. SCEA explains that the quality, reliability and safety of counterfeit products is uncertain and hence its very dangerous to use these.
Sony has stated that it has plans to release a System update that would prevent the usage of fake controllers and make them unplayable on the Ps3 systems.
Seems like Sony is taking strict measures to increase the sales of its genuine first-paty accessories. Thus if you own a fake controller, it might soon be of no use.
