Multiple Platinums?

There is a rumour (small but still there) that there is going to be multiple :platinum: trophies for gran turismo 5 due to the sheer scale of the game.

I personally don't really believe it but thought I would throw this in here to see what you think.

If this is true...
What do you think of that? And how is this going to affect games in the future?

Don't think it will happen with a stand alone game, it has to be a separate game but we are seeing multiple platinums coming on one disc for mixed games like the GOW collection.

I could see something coming along which will break the mould though.

Yeh. Its probably the approach to trophies from most developers. I guess trophy lovers are a small percentage of gamers.

I really dont think that trophy lovers comprise of a small percentage of gamers. The compulsion of having trophies from Sony indicated that the percentage must be significant enough to warrant that change.

its possible, and sony may allow it since its gt5, plus since there is a A-spec (your the driver) and a B-spec carear (train other drivers and tell them what to do) theres a chance, but i have to say, its a very, very slim one.

Nah I don't think it would ever happen. Like Seph says, there's precedent for multiple plats on one disc, but I seriously doubt it would ever cross into multiple platinums for one game. The very concept of a platinum is "get all other trophies" so if you had 2 platinums, that wouldn't work - you'd have to unlock one platinum to get the other trophy...

Also, Sony would have to create another tier of trophies, to reward people for getting multiple platinums... no idea what it could be, diamond? That being said, it would truly mangle the existing system to have multiple platinums.

I may be totally wrong but maybe there is another GT coming out as well as GT5 which would mean two trophies in total

Maybe a game with 100 trophies. Your 50th unlocks platinum number 1 and your 100th unlocks platinum number 2.that could work couldn't it? :P

i think they should stick to 1 plat.
just make it VERY hard.
gold = bronze ect. then plat will be worth shouting about

I think it could work to have double plats for some games that have a story then an online but they trophies would have to really hard for online, not to hard though like warhawk lool

That makes sense to a point. Platinums are there so that people who get the most out of the game are rewarded though, so to have one for each is a bit like saying "Yeah just come and play it for a bit, get a platinum, who cares if you don't want to play ALL the game?"
