I've not tried it but do you drop the Item, return to Nexus, then return to crow?

u have to give it something it wants like the gold mask or talisman of god, place it down by the stump of the tree. if it likes what u give it'll say something like happy happy blah blah. then either quit to the nexus and go thru the level again til u come back to the tree or an easier option is to quit the game at the tree after giving an item to the bird then reload your game and you'll spawn at the tree with treasure. easy peasy
