Bad Glitch -warning!

After completing "story year 4" and watching the credits (again), the game sent me back into The Leaky Cauldron as expected. I then decided to go to the door on the right where you would usually continue the story, it now says "Return to Hogwarts" thus allowing you to wander around hogwarts collecting the red bricks etc etc. When doing this, there is 1 room you should AVOID at all costs, its on the far left of Hogwarts under "Flitwick's Classroom" (where you first learn Wingdum Leviosa), when you shoot the lock off the trapdoor and drop into the basement you have to rebuild a dragon who will then throw you back up to the classroom with his head (ALLS GOOD SO FAR!). The problem here is, that if you decide to drop bck through the trapdoor to try and retrieve the red brick later on, the dragon will no longer flick you back out again, leaving you stranded in this room forever, absolutely no way out. Even if you pause game, and choose return to leaky cauldron, and then go back through the door to Hogwarts, it will still drop you back in this room.

My only options now are either
- carry on replaying story levels from the board in leaky cauldron, and pray that warner bros. are going to fix this glitch
- or start a new game and avoid this room altogether next time round and save it till very last when i know im only missing that 1 red brick from that room.

Hope all people that read this, acknowledge this warning and dont get stuck in this ridiculous mess. A brilliant game ruined in my opinion

Thanks very much, at the end of year 2 now. Also could you possibly tell me what the red sparkly spell is? and also the one that allows you unlock chests and crates?

If its similar to Star Wars i imagine the red sparkly objects can only be moved/accessed by a dark wizard (was a sith in the star wars). i imagine you can only get certain collectibles when you do free play and you have all the characters

yeah thats correct, same as LEGO starwars. use Snape or Voldermort for example

Bad news on that one, you get a gold brick for making it out, although i have a kinda fix for it (as i had that problem and had to start again)

You start again and do everything you can, then copy a save to a USB before trying the room, then the dragon will throw you up once and there is a chance you will get out, if you get stuck delete your save and copy the one from the USB back on to your ps3 then try again. It worked for me and now I have platinum, hope that helps. Ohh and dont forget to take a dark wizard with you as you only want to go down there once :)

yea im aware of the gold brick, i DID get out of there the 1st time i went down there. the dragon only went mental and stopped flicking me up on my return visit because i went back with a dark wizard to retreive the red brick from down there. my original post does say that, i know it was a long winded explanation though, sorry

just a quik question, how and where can I unlock a goblin to complete the first level in freeplay, i get stuck on the first lock, as nothing can open it. Also when can I unlock snape or voldemort or someone else so I can use the red sparkly spells?

the 1st time i encounterd a dark magic character was on year 4 level 1 Barty Crouch Junior - (Right beside the purple potion ingrediant is a locked chest but u will need Reducto which u get later on in this year ) also u can get griphook ( the goblin with the key ) in the 1st level in year 1 after you ave gone down on the mine cart theres a chest but also requires Reducto from year 4 2 open it . hope this helps

talk to the goblin thats writing in the down the bottom end of the room in the middle u should sea light on the floor where 2 stand press circle

There is a solution to the 'stuck in the dungeon' glitch that I can confirm will get you out (I've tried it twice - it works).

Change your character to Hermione and select the Crookshanks spell on the spell wheel (so that the 'O' button is displayed ready to be pressed). Then move over to the far LEFT of the room - as far as you can go - and climb onto the balcony of the back wall.

Jump with 'X' towards the back/left and immediately hit 'O' to change to Crookshanks. If you've timed it right then Crookshanks will appear in the Wingardium classroom.

LEAVE THE ROOM AS CROOKSHANKS (do NOT hit Triangle or you will be back in the dungeon) and you will find yourself back to normal outside the classroom.

Then just return to Diagon Alley and everything will be back to normal.

I managed to get out of this room all 3 of the times i went into it. I noticed a patch the other day, so this may have fixed it? But i managed to get in and out of the glitched room before said patch. So hopefully no more getting stuck fo you guys!

Oh that's what that was? I just turned my ps3 on and it said it downloaded something for Harry Potter with the automatic download...wasnt quite sure what.

Still annoyed though...I have 1 gold brick left, 1 student in peril and 1 character to buy.....cant bloody find it!

Lol the one gold brick you need to get for voldemort! I got 4 students, 3 characters (I know where they are), and the gold bricks in the bonus levels. So not much really.

Yeah it was fixed ages ago buddy. You should be fine now. i been in and out of it loads of times with no porblems.

great just got the game, holding on a bit was the right idea until all the bugs were fixed. got it for £21.99 aswel which i thought was a good deal from mymemory site. love the lego games, their the only games i can play with me missus

Yeah its a fun game. You should be fine. I got my copy on week of release for £25. Was on offer in Sainsbury's lol
