I've noticed a pattern in Naughty Dog's style of development, starting with Crash Bandicoot. Their games seem to order out as;
:)Original ==> :happy:Sequel ==> :DSequel ==> :undecided:Racing Spin Off ==> :shocked2:Sell Franchise/ Series
Crash Bandicoot followed that pattern fantastically, 90's kids know all about CTR. Jak and Daxter did okay, Jak X did well to add some asinine, irrelevant bow to the already neatly wrapped gift that was the storyline. In the this "3rd generation" of consoles I don't think they could get away with the same formula but it would be fun to see it happen again.
(IMO Uncharted 3 will be a prequel in some way.)
TL;DR What if Naughty Dog followed Uncharted 3 with a racing game? Discuss at length.
