It was confirmed today that Bungie have joined forces with Activision for Bungie's all-new franchise, which means that both companies have now entered into an exclusive 10-year partnership to bring Bungie's next big action franchise to the market.
The 10-year partnership agreement provides Activision with the worldwide publishing and distribution rights over Bungie's new intellectual properties, which will span across "multiple platforms and devices."
The President of Bungie, Harold Ryan said, "We chose to partner with Activision on our next IP because of their global reach, multi-platform experience and marketing expertise". He went on to say, "From working together over the past nine months on this agreement, it is clear that Activision supports our commitment to giving our fans the best possible gaming experiences."
It has also been confirmed that Bungie will however stay independent and own this new intellectual property (IP). However, no other details were mentioned regarding the new intellectual property. They are going multi-platform though, that much is clear.
Could it be the much anticipated new style of Call Of Duty game?
Could it be Bungie taking over from Infinity Ward for next year's Call Of Duty?
One thing is for sure, and that is that the internet rumour mill will be running in overdrive as to exactly what Bungie's all-new franchise will be.
