It was confirmed today that Bungie have joined forces with Activision for Bungie's all-new franchise, which means that both companies have now entered into an exclusive 10-year partnership to bring Bungie's next big action franchise to the market.

The 10-year partnership agreement provides Activision with the worldwide publishing and distribution rights over Bungie's new intellectual properties, which will span across "multiple platforms and devices."

The President of Bungie, Harold Ryan said, "We chose to partner with Activision on our next IP because of their global reach, multi-platform experience and marketing expertise". He went on to say, "From working together over the past nine months on this agreement, it is clear that Activision supports our commitment to giving our fans the best possible gaming experiences."

It has also been confirmed that Bungie will however stay independent and own this new intellectual property (IP). However, no other details were mentioned regarding the new intellectual property. They are going multi-platform though, that much is clear.

Could it be the much anticipated new style of Call Of Duty game?

Could it be Bungie taking over from Infinity Ward for next year's Call Of Duty?

One thing is for sure, and that is that the internet rumour mill will be running in overdrive as to exactly what Bungie's all-new franchise will be.

Jason dude, we need to add sources to the news, in order, to not have any copyright issues. We have had TSA frowning upon us in the past, when they were not mentioned.

Well I saw this a few minutes ago both here:
Bungie Activision is the best choice (http://www.mcvuk.com/news/38767/Bungie-Activision-is-the-best-choice)
and here:
activision bungie deal (http://www.geekosystem.com/activision-bungie-deal/)

Make of it what you will, but it's all pretty mundane to me.

Well, as the wording is somewhat different and you cannot change a factual quote, then I don't see what or where the problem is. :S

Bungie making Call of Duty would be worse than freakin Infinity Ward :| (not fanboy at all...). Treyarch should be making all CoD games in my opinion

Anyway hopefully it'll be something completely new that maybe strays away from the genre of shooters despite the fact its in their roots with Halo.

You know in universities when we use information from sources, even when we write it in our own words...we give a "reference". Same concept dude....

Even though Infinity Ward created Call of Duty, and Treyarch make shit games...?

I couldn't care less with this story to be honest - a money grabbing developer who makes bad games joins forces with a money grabbing publisher who rushes out sequels? How brilliant. And NOSAJ, it's called copyright

Treyarch make better games than Infinity Ward.

It's not really a fair comparision since Infinity Ward only has 4 Call Of Duty games to stand behind.

Would be nice to see something NOT Call Of Duty for once.

Not really. They made the shitty James Bond game which leeched everything from Call of Duty, and two CoD games that were waaaaaaay below Infinity Ward standard, with shabby level design and the only redeeming feature being the zombie modes
