X kills with X weapon trophies?

Do the kills carry over one playthrough to the next? I've completed the game on normal so will the kills carry over when I start the game again on Hard or Crushing?

i'd get the kills via chapter select, because i'm not sure if they carry over.

yes they continue over but its good to just select a level with lots of enemies and play it over a few times.
