John Cumming R.I.P 23/10/1972 - 22/3/2010 (http://www.ps3scotland.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=4569&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0)

Some bad news to report. MummyDaddy suddenly passed away last night. He was SCO and a hardcore trophy gamer and fan of PS3T. He is currently 12th on the leaderboard and posted plenty here including tips so i just wanted any of his non SCO gamer m8's to know. He has 10 kids (hence the tag) of which the elder will continue to game on his account as a tribute to his gaming memory and trophy dream. John was a true Scottish Gaming Legend. A great guy and all round gamer. He'll be sadly missed.....

Wow I am really sorry to hear that and I honestly don't know what to say. I guess all we can say is we're thinking of him and I hope you guys keep gaming as you say in his memory. Sounds like he would have appreciated it.

I am stunned by this news. Thanks to Turpz for posting this. I dont know what else to say apart from that he will be sorely missed.
We battled for quite a while to be the top ranked scottish gamer on this site and was a good friend on psn.

He was only on the shoutbox the other day saying he'd earned the Heavy Rain platinum, it just shows how quick these things can happen. The loss of a life is always traumatic and I send out my condolences to his family. Though I never knew him personally, I'm very sorry to hear of his passing.

I really don't know what to say, this is absolutely tragic. It just goes to show you've gotta make the best of what time you have as you never know what can happen. Though I didn't know John personally, he was obviously someone who made the most of life. My thoughts and best wishes go out to his family, especially the kids. God knows what they must be going through.

RIP.

Wow, just wow. Like others that have posted I didn't know him, but on a trivial note I've always noticed that I've been trophy-tussling with him on the leaderboard :( Could you pass on our best wishes to the family if you have any contact with them?

Might just be me, but that tribute hyperlink didn't seem to work, something about an unauthorised IP address?

I never ran into the guy on here, but it's always sad to hear of a death, especially of someone so young with a family. My sympathy and prayers go out to his friends and family at this difficult time.

All I can do is simply echo the sentiments from those who have already posted on here, I had seem him about on the forum over the year or two that I have been here and we had spoken in passing.

It is never an easy thing when someone passes away, however at least he has a large family in which they can rally around and help one another cope through these undeniably difficult times.

*Takes hat off*

Kudos to you sir.
You will be missed.

Theres going to be quite a few gamers going to Johns funeral next tuesday in Dundee. The family have touched base and are aware and pleased about the tributes both here at PS3T and at our place. There's been quite a whip round as well. Heez even being cremated in his favourite PS3 gaming shirt with his PSN tag on it. Good to see gamers rallying round. Just goes to show what lengths part of being a community can go. The MummyDaddy spirit will live on!

Where the Wild things Are - collect some skulls was the last trophy John unlocked if anyone is interested! he was playing when he suddenly got ill. 6 hours later he was gone. He died of a Brain Hemorrhage. His family are playing on with his PSN account now. Thats what John would have wanted. He will never be forgotten. Rest his soul.

Deaks, Dont be guilty bud, its impossible to play with everyone. Its a big gripe of mine blindly playing for trophies at the expense of online play. You gotta appreciate the social aspect of gaming and always respect your fellow gamer and never take things for granted. Your haul at the end of the day is pretty irrelevant its how you get there and the posting and playing that you will be remembered. He left a cracking legacy and gamed more in a short while then many in a lifetime. Thats why he'll have gamers at his funeral. MummyDaddy was a legend.

* still 12th on the leaderboard*

Went to the funeral today. 7 gamers attended. He had a big wreath in the shape of a playstation controller and Johns gaming was mentioned many times at the service. Was a very emotional day but we sank a few pints and saluted a trophy legend. R.I.P

This made my blood boil.

Anyone who is sending abuse to your family, particularly at this tough time, needs to immediately locate the nearest mirror and take a long, hard look in it :veryangry:

Wow!, No one expects to read such sad news on a gaming site. :( I'd not played with 'mummydaddy' but had often come across his posts here. It's really cool his family will continue his psn account, that's an awesome tribute and a wonderful way to remember him and keep his dream alive.
