Yo,

Massive, massive fan of the first BioShock game and BioShock 2 has been sitting on my shelf for a few days now. You may wonder why it is on the shelf and not in my PS3!!! That's because I can't stand not completing a game I am already playing, especially to Platinum level if I'm going for it so I am 1 trophy away now from Platinumming Darksiders (awesome game btw) and then I can start BioShock 2. What an incentive!

Anyway, after viewing the trophy list (definitely not the spoiler ones though!), I was sort of disappointed not to see all of the 'I Chose The Impossible' style trophies from BioShock. So my question is, should I play this through on one playthrough on Hard and not use Vita Chambers?

The other reason I ask is that with most games, BioShock included, I actually really enjoy playing the game on quite an easy mode, often easiest so that I can enjoy the story without any frustration of keep dieing! That definitely worked for BioShock as I loved it! After completing the game on easy, I then went back on Survivor without Vita Chambers and completed for my Platinum.

Am I likely to want to do the same again here? And how much have I waffled in this post???

Although it would be possible to get all the trophies in one playthrough (on Hard, without using any Vita-Chambers), there are a few reasons why I think it would be better to do in two.

The storyline, as you mentioned; far better to go through, get a feel for the the game and the differences between it and the first one, and get your head around the plot on an easier difficulty; as opposed to going through on hard, struggling to not use any Vita-Chambers, messing around trying to get 100 audio diaries, trying to find all the weapon upgrades etc. whilst still trying to keep a handle on what's going on in the story.

Plus, there are (at least) two different endings, so at least two playthroughs would seem to make sense storywise.

Personally I am probably going to do it in three playthroughs - I've just finished the first on normal difficulty, and got most of the offline trophies including 100 audio diaries (there are more than 100, so that one's not too difficult to get).
Second playthrough will be on hard, and I'll go for all the weapon stations.
Then a third on easy to do it without the Vita-Chambers.

Can I just ask, in Bio there is an option to have the vita chambers turned off. Would disabling them affect the trophy?

No it doesn't affect the trophy, in fact turning them off is the best way to do it, then you don't use one and save without thinking about it :)

EDIT - in the first Bioshock, anyway...don't know about 2 yet.
