So with the not-so-cryptic ending of AC2 fresh in our minds (for those that played it) it would appear that the Development team behind it are beavering away with the next instalment in the series. The information that is flying around the World Wide Wait indicates that amongst the much rumoured multi player aspect it would look like Ezio will be going to Rome for more stabby-slashy Templar fun.

According to Yves Guillemot "This time, [Ezio] will strike directly against the Templar's order in Rome," and all of this before April 2011!

Where would you like AC2 to go? Personally I would rather it took a totally new setting, like Russia around the Tunguska incident (as mentioned in the emails in the first game), it would be great to play in Rome but should it be a new game or rather DLC for AC2?

I read this, this morning while the site was down.

There are alot of reports that this is NOT the direct sequel to the game, but more an add on.

I dont know how true this is, but I thought I would throw that in the mixing pot!!!

That's what I think it should be, a DLC bolt on and not a new game entirely.

I almost posted this last night but as soon as I hit Submit the site went kapoot!

I hope it is just an add-on. I'd love the setting for ACIII to be Medieval Britain, or Feudal Japan, but would've thought it'll be a modern day setting with Desmond using his new skills.

Yeh the ending did point that way unless the next game is half and half.

It would be disappointing if that was the game. Plus MP is not the most obvious path to go down.

kjkg is right, It more of a AC 2.5, its another full release, with Ezio and Italy and not a direct sequel.

BAsically it sounds like Ubisoft are milking it, because AC2 did so well. It appears to be made up of a new multiplayer mode and some "missions" which were probably destined for DLC..

i don't mind seeing more of ezio but as dlc not a full game, changing the location prevents the place becoming stale. feudal japan would be epic but i can't see that happening, i don't see how it would fit in.

@tuut it's a tech thing, common name for the internet when dialup was more widely used because you was forever waiting for pages to load.

Hmm, I hope it is a new add on. I do like Ezio but I wouldn't mind a new Assassin getting thrown in to learn about.

And if Multiplayer is in there, I want co-op. One guy distracting all the guards, the other going to kill the target. Sweeter than chocolate covered chocolate fudge cake made in chocolate land.

I thought this wasn't AC3? I thought it was just a continuation of AC2 (so to speak). From what I've read Ubisoft hasn't announced AC3 yet, but I could be wrong so don't caps lock me lol. :D I'm just stating what I've read, but any AC game on PS3 is a buy for me, I love the series. :D

i've also heard this because they're using Ezio again and supposedly it takes place in Rome.

[Why dose everyone think that you will be Desmand in ACIII. You wont, dose no one remember the end of ACII when Lucy says that your going to look at an other ansester? I think this will be some kind of 2.5 thing

@liambonner

Spoiler much?

Might at least want to add a warning when posting what happens at the end of the game for those that haven't played it yet!!

Unfortunately from reports is not co-op but "beating each other up type" online, although now you mention it, co-op would be a really fun way to add a different dimension to AC that could be great fun!

Oh, hells yeah! I've said elsewhere on these forums that I thought the second game would be set in feudal Japan. It would be an absolute crime if they didn't set at least one of them there. The potential is huge.

I always thought that AC2 would be feudal Japan too, but I'm happy I was proved wrong, Ubisoft got so much, story and gameplay-wise out of Renaissance Italy.

I would like to see Feudal Japan, but it's kinda been done, with Tenchu and stuff, and I'd like to see AC3 go another way, possibly another slightly surprising way. So even though it's never gonna happen, I'd love to see Edwardian/Victorian London for AC3. Just my opinion, but there's a wealth of untapped stuff to use there.
