In an interview with AustralianGamer.com Kent Hudson, Senior Systems Designer at 2K Marin, has confirmed that DLC for the highly anticipated Bioshock 2 is in the pipeline.

"We are working on pretty aggressive plans for DLC and that's actually something that is already under-way. That is something that is mostly being run out of the Marin studio because like I said the Australian studio is already ramping up on the next big thing."

Quite what he means when he says "aggressive plans" is unclear, but it's probably safe to assume that it ain't gonna be free. Also, as 2K Marin are responsible for the single player side of the game, with Digital Extremes handling the multiplayer, the DLC he's referring to could well be extra missions, extra plasmids or more challenge rooms.

Guess we'll just have to wait and see.

Although I don't care about the game much, I think the DLC may be in any special versions of the game from the beginning.

This pisses me off, if they're making DLC before the game is even released then why isn't it being released with the game?

like the black edition assassins creed II.

i know that if you pre-order bioshock II from game, you get two free multiplayer characters, but looking at the source it won't be them. probably what they did for DLC on the first one.

Challenge rooms were weak and lacked a replay factor for the price they were set at

Well this will depend on the price and reviews for me...though by the time i get around getting bioshock 2 and the platting it, this dlc might have been discounted...lol

You don't have to plat every game you buy......... :undecided:

Talking about it like it's an obligation. :|

ya i try to aim to plat every game i buy at some point and so goes my aim with 100%s in the games too...just how i feel about them, maybe thats why it does sound like an obligation.

I'm the same, I try to plat every game I have. Although with games like Warhawk and Far Cry 2 on my trophy list, it doesn't always happen! I just like to feel that I've got everything I possibly can from a game, and the plat is usually a good indicator of this. Burnout Paradise excepted!

I agree with Moggy on the DLC point; it is really annoying when devs are talking about DLC/sequels before a game is even out.

Can't wait for Bioshock 2 though. Got the Bioshock 1 DLC the other day, and it's great to have a reason to go back to it after so long. DLC within three months of a game's release should not be allowed.

i really enjoyed the challenge rooms on bioshock. the trophy aspect did make me play it non stop. i cannot wait for this game and all the dlc that is made with it. dont forget they may of decided to make the dlc after the game was 'finished' or it took longer than planned to make it.

6 days to go!
