It's not coming to Europe until 2009, but instead we'll be getting PlayTV in September/October.

Play TV is looking cool, and it's in Europe before anything else! The first time in gaming history that anything has come out in Europe before America and Japan and the rest (Australia's always last, and they only get heavily censored stuff as well - it would suck to live there).
It probably isn't the first time in history, but it certainly feels like it.

I know i also think europe are the superior and we should get and test everythink first. The americans and Japanese get everything first and we should make a stand and kindnap all the people who invent knew games and stuff and bring them in aour country so we get it. LOL.

I like it that we dont get stuff first. Look at the dual shock. If we got that first and it was found out to be faulty, loads of us would be having gaming problems. I don't see it as USA or Jap 'getting' it first....they are testing that it works for us.
We are the best and deserve the best! Let everyone else go through the faults and let us get the best stuff.
PTV looks good, but I wonder....how long until the h/d gets full? I only have 40g and at the minute have about 15g free.

Downloadable content might cause some problems to 40Gb users.. You should consider buying yourself an external hdd - I got one of these (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freecom-Classic-500GB-External-Black/dp/B000UVRA34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1216720894&sr=8-1) for £80, but they're currently selling for £57! That's 500Gb of space which would last you for quite a while (Yet I managed to fill up two of these *coughing* DivX from BitTorrent..).
I think it's something you're going to need in the future if you plan on using this downloadable media thing a lot. You could also think about upgrading your internal hdd, but I think that would work out to be more expensive. With the external hdd you're also able to hook it up to your Pc as well - which makes swapping things between the two a lot easier.

First off, it's worth noting that some saves can't be transfered - For example Rock Band and Tekken 5 : Online Resurrection - can't be backed up because they're locked to the PS3 hdd. This is a pain, especially if you've spent hours unlocking things, but there's no way around it. So probably best to check if you can copy your game saves before you do it. For most people the best option would probably be to buy an external hdd - These are a lot cheaper and don't involve opening up your ps3.
We talked about changing the ps3 hdd in a previous thread, which can be found here (http://www.ps3trophies.co.uk/showthread.php?t=219). Hope it helps!

I've had my ps3 for a year now, I have a load of songs on there, about 90 albums' worth. I have a few videos from the ps store on there (although I deleted loads to save space) - there were game saves which I deleted the games I've traded in to save more space, but still plenty of game saves on there. There's the downloaded content, such as the warhawk expansions, SSHD and it's expansions, Blast Factor (no expansions tho), flOw, PJ Monsters, and Echochrome. I have a few images of album covers to put for the music, and a few other images. I have a 60gb ps3, and now it has 26gb free. Still a fair bit, but it's not going to last for too much longer, maybe 9 months or so. It's easier to buy a new hard drive now and sort any issues out while I haven't filled it with data.

Easy. Put disc in. Select 'Obtain CD Information' if it hasn't done it automatically. Click 'Import'. Done. It's quite fast too.

some CDs won't have information available though, but in that case you can manually fill in the data by pressing Triangle on each file, then selecting INFO.

I have just under 3GB left on my 60GB PS3. About 40GB of it is movies, and the rest is game saves/data.

then you'd do well to get yourself an external harddrive...
All my music and movies are stored on a 500GB external...
my 60GB PS3 is almost filled up with gamesaves, content and installations, I might have to upgrade at some point.

Wow, that usb hub thing is a great idea! My sister was just complaining how her ps3 didn't have card reader or extra usb sockets so that would be perfect for her.. And it's her birthday coming up in September. Are these availble for Import atm?
Second best thing in that video was the totally wireless wii control (second version). I don't play the wii anymore, but if I did that's what I'd have :)
The control pad dock and guitar were pretty whack though..

I honestly have no idea. I just saw that video on the main page of GameTrailers, and thought I'd post it.
Google is your best bet.

eeeeppp... theres been a few people saying that external usb harddrives don't work with the PS3 because the ps3 is only compatible with FAT32 external devices... most harddrives will be formatted ad NTFS, yes you can reformat into a FAT32 but only a partition, as theres something about fat32's capactity limit...

Yes this is true, the ps3 will only recognise a Fat32 partition - NTFS or any other format will not show up when plugged into the ps3. The link I gave earlier in this thread (http://www.amazon.co.uk/Freecom-Classic-500GB-External-Black/dp/B000UVRA34/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1216720894&sr=8-1) is to the cheapest 500Gb external hdd, which also comes pre-formatted in Fat32. There are also some programs available on the net that are able to bypass the limit on Fat32 but unfortunately I don't have any links as I've never had to use them. I'm sure a little time spent on google would uncover them.

The 60GB model has 4 USB ports, but you can always use the adaptor mentioned above for 6 ports.
