I dont know what other people think but i have one word to describe this game
a Phenomenon
I cant fault the game at all. It's brilliant length, the story is excellent and the general game is far superior to the first game which i again thought was very good. The game has 26 chapters and at least half of them i played i just thought "WOAH, that was brilliant"
Also the music i just think is fantastic, i listen to it all off youtube.
Anyone who is thinking of getting this game, buy it.
I read somewhere that this game took up 50gb of memory on a blue ray disk to make. I believe that is the maximum amount that can fit on a blue ray, so you really can tell they have worked hard on this.
This game is arguably the best i have every played on. That is along with Deadspace, Uncharted 1, GTA and Fifa.

totally agreed. i was sceptical at first, but after having finished it i must admit, that it is a true masterpiece.

After having just played online mode for the last hour and having voiced my opinion about it being the game of the year, I have one thing to say.
I might have been wrong.
I was so looking foward to the online, but the online is a major fault. Firstly, why can't there just be a normal TDM, why is it part TDM part S&D? I don't want to wait minutes waiting for the rest of the team to die if I get killed (unfairly, but I'll get to that), and end up losing a round because of how easy it is to camp using the games mechanics, which are otherwise amazing and provide a fantastic new type of online play.
Also, what's with this -5 levels every time you leave? My friend has an odd connection which can quickly turn from brilliant to practically non-existant and throw him out of the game, and sometimes you have to leave the game to join a friends party or for other valid reasons - why should we be punished so harshly for this?
As for the co-op play, I really loved that, it's strange how Naughty Dog can produce phenominal things like this, and then go throw in tiny faults which make a huge difference. Co-op is no exception, I was thouroughly enjoying myself on the Gladiator mode or whatever it's called, until about round 4, when all of a sudden every enemy had the ability to kill you as soon as they touched you, and seeing as they attack from all sides, there's no way of preventing the inevital cold hand of death as it tightens it's grip round your mouth. I was happy they put in an option to hit the triangle button to release this grip, thinking that I could use my skill of button hitting to escape and continue my enjoyable experience, until I realised that hitting triangle was doing absolutely nothing.
Another annoying factor of the online mode, and correct me if i'm wrong, is how you can't earn any trophies other than the two for playing a game in co-op and competative. I want to be rewarded for my efforts to enjoy the online mode, even if that's as basic as earning trophies for killing with certain guns. It says nowhere on the trophy description these have to be done on single player campaign does it? So why restrict it?
Finaly, there seems to be a huge gap in the advantages provided for experienced players. My first encounter of this was where I found a player and managed to cleverly manouvere and sneak up from behind him, feeling fairly proud of myself performing such a move so early on in my online experience, and so I openened fire, only to be blown up almost instantly because he'd known where the Hammer was hiding and was able to get insta-kills with it, compared to my FAL which is a three hit kill at it's absolute best by the way it's been acting. Naughty Dog were very passionate in one of their extra-content video's (which im really glad they've done, not enough companies provide this,) about making the game as fair as possible, and how they were able to make sure that the games were as fair as possible. So why is it player's gain huge advantages from knowing where super-guns which ruin the well balanced fairness between the AK47, the FAL, and the SAS are? My second encounter of unfairness came against a higher level player. He stood directly in front of two players in my team, myself included, and took two shotgun shots each, before jumping and rolling away to cover taking a another round of gunfire from us, which I know I personally got a couple of hits with, and still he didn't die. But, luckily I knew exactly where he was heading and stood straight in his path so I could take his head off when he dropped down. He dropped, I shot, he shot, I died. Fantastic.
As for the single player, since im having a bitch, the main problem I had with this was where after several attempts I resulted in shouting at the TV 'No Drake, I want to jump down to the platform beneath me, not that great big chasm on the other side of the wall!'. It's subtle ways in which how Drake reacts to your commands which aren't as good as, for example, InFamous', which make this game a lot poorer than it should have been.
Really love the cinema mode though, shame as far as im awhare you can't actually record anything with it.
Other than that, this game, as you said, is absolutely phenominal. But, someone might as well point out it's definately not perfect.

I agree, the first time i played the train level, i was just blown away. In every single game the areas you pass on a level like this start to appear over and over, however uncharted 2 no areas u pass on the train are unique which is great.

Oh god... this is probably the biggest flaw for me, along with the stupid auto-cover-seek when you press circle (which admittedly is a lot better than it was in DF, but still frustrating at times). But yeah, wanting to jump down a ledge and watching Drake fly to his death down some deep chasm got really tiring over the course of the game. Otherwise, totally agree, awesome game.

geo222, you simply suck it sounds to me... seriously if you bothered to play you would know there is team deathmatch, be it called deathman none the less it still is team deathmatch, on round 4 you get these chockers who can "paralize" you for a few seconds, its not being killed and its only one enemy class not all of em, don't have a bash at trophies, they mean barely anything, naughty dog have included their own reward system and its medals... those wonderful medals which keep rewarding me and allowing me to new stuff at their store... also since when was there a game where you didn't have slightly over powered weapons online? sure you could aruge that they should respawn it but that would be plain annoying, if they're fixed as they are then you get people legging it there asap and it makes for some epic combat. experienced players are generally better because... wait for it... they have expereince, the only game effecting bonuses they carry apart from their exp is the the fact that they know the maps better but heck that comes under exp doesn't it, so quite bashing uncharted 2 on minor flaws that you could as a person indivudually correct yourself because you sound like a noob to me, alright so dont write crap about uc2 just because you keep dying...

Quite honestly, this is the sort of game that you buy for the single player. That's what I did and I couldn't care less about the online. I played a few games of online but the single player campaign is IMO the best campaign on any shooter type game out there on PS3. The online has its flaws but is still fun in the 10 games I play on it a year lol... I agree that Geo22's problems just make him sound quite bad at that game...
I borrowed this off a mate about a month ago, I'm around chapter 13 at the moment.
Let me start off by saying that the graphics are phenomenal, but we all knew they would be. The voice acting is superb, including Chloe, even though she looks about 20 but sounds about 40!
But tbh up until about chapter nine this game just absolutely failed to hold my attention. I'm still struggling slightly to understand the massive levels of hype around it; I'm still not convinced that it's better than the first (which I platinumed). The first was highly rated, and rightly so - it was great. But I think the hype around the second has grown so far out of proportion that it's ruined the game slightly for me!
It's started improving now I'm actually getting into the game and I'm hoping it keeps on getting better, but I'm getting that same sinking feeling I got while playing MW2...

Huh? Unless you're playing Elimination then your teammates should spawn within 10 seconds.

If you leave a game once no penalty. Leave a game soon after the first and you're penalized $40'000. Even with connection error which is partly ND's fault. It sucks balls
Stick together with your friends and this problem shouldn't happen? It's co-op short for co-operative. Not Run-Hero which is short for "Run off and take down everyone to be a hero".
Another annoying factor of the online mode, and correct me if i'm wrong, is how you can't earn any trophies other than the two for playing a game in co-op and competative. New trophies come with the DLC next week.

That second bit is badly phrased, who had the shotguns? Load up a custom match and find all the power weapon spawns. There's usually 3-4 on a map (minus Fort which only has 2). They are ALWAYS in the middle. Learn the spawns and rush them so the other team can't get them.
This was never a problem for me, you obviously can't aim where you want to jump or I got lucky
Really love the cinema mode though, shame as far as im awhare you can't actually record anything with it.

Not perfect I agree, now with Update 1.05 but your problems can easily be avoided. Practise makes perfect or at least better than you were before

Chloe is voiced by the amazing Claudia Black, it's not surprising she rocks ;)
I agree that the game's hype was over the top though, my first playthrough was spent raging quite a lot at things Naughty Dog changed or fiddled with (or added, like those damn shotgun grunts that are damn hard to take down if you don't know about them in advance in order to make sure you have a shotty available). Honestly, I much preferred the first game, possibly due to it being something completely new and awesome.
But then, after my first playthrough of U2 and going through again on Crushing for the plat, it really grabbed me and pulled me in. Honestly I think they could've done some things differently as I never ended up getting as annoyed and frustrated with the first game on my first play as I did with U2, but all things considered it's still a superb game even despite those first play through niggles :)
When my ps3 fat YLOD'd recently i bought a slim that came bundled with this game, the game is stunning lookin,i've played games before that in certain levels have looked very impressive and detailed like Killzone,Metal Gear Solid etc,the graphics in this game are way ahead of anything else out there, also great story, gameplay,a worthy 9/10.The fact that tripe like MW2 scores 9/10 i feel somehow devalues UC2's high score.
