I was downloading the lbp beta the other day( Im not trying to rub it in!) and i was speaking to a friend about it who was just about to start downloading it, i was on 22% when he started and he finished when i was on 80%.

It came to my attention that my download speeds had greatly lengthened as they use to be quite quick.
Im downloading wipeout HD now and its taken about an hour to do 135 mb.
Im not on Virgin so its not the infamous "capping", im on BT.

Does anyone one have the same problem or suggestions?

My PlayStation Network speeds have been good as of late but then they are pretty slow for me sometimes.

It took me 4 hours to download the 2.42 Update for the PS3.

- Are your PS3's Internet wireless or wired? Because if it's wireless, we alread know the reason to the slow download speed.
It takes ages with the wireless Internet for the Ps3, it doesn't work good enough.
I changed to cable, and my PS3 has just downloaded WipEout HD in 45mins. -1 hour ;)

My internet connection is wired and I normally find the speeds pretty fast as of late even when I download System Updates.

Its wireless. I guess thats the reason, it has still slowed down a lot recently.

Dextermon: What type is your NAT?
Is your PS3 connected with DMZ?

Can you change to cable?
If yes, do it, and you'll see a BIG difference ;)

Well..
Try to add your PS3 to DMZ.
Scroll down, and you'll see, how you do it: http://www.ps3trophies.co.uk/showthread.php?t=8114

- If you don't have a Linksys router, find you router here and find the guide how to put a PS3 into DMZ: http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm

On this site, you choose the router you have: http://www.portforward.com/english/routers/port_forwarding/routerindex.htm
When you've done that, there are coming alot of options. Choose the option that's about DMZ. Read, and you will know how to do.

To put your PS3 in to DMZ: When you have your PS3's IP adress (it has to be static), you just copy the IP adress in the DMZ in your router. You can access your router with the IP adress and the pass that followed with the router, when you bought it.

- Btw., you have a static IP adress for your PS3, right?

A good tip for those with wireless connections (which is a no-brainer, really), connect wired to your PS3, and your connection will improve. D/ling 30 mb took about 2 mins when I was wireless, but using the same router only connecting with a wire, it now takes 20 seconds.
