View Full Version : Improve Trophy Sync. Speed
We all know the problem. While your trophy list grows and as more games you install, the synchronize process of the trophies becomes slower and slower. Now I found a simple solution to fix this problem and speed it up.
Here the How-To:
1. Shutdown PS3
2. Hold the power-button till the PS3 shuts down by itself after some beeps
3. Hold the power-button down again, till you hear a "double beep"
4. Unhand the button; now the service menu starts

5. Choose option 4 "Rebuild Database"
6. Done, now your PS3 updates the trophies very fast again.

Yeah I saw this yesterday on streetskaterfu.blogspot.com hes pretty well known for his ps3 hacks (well what little hacks there have been)
Only question I have is does it mess up all your folders for videos and music?
The odd time I have had to rebuild the database, not sure why but a few times i turned on the ps3 and was told it needed rebuilding, anyway when i have rebuilt it all my folders with my videos have gone and the music and vids are in a list again instead of in the folders I used like "tv", "films" etc.

Just back up game saves, pictures etc.
So just to clear it up will it lose all your data if you rebuild database?

don't think so. it's like defragmentation on a pc.

Yer I have heard this before elsewhere, but I am very weary to do it incase I lose any data that I don't want to. Unless my PS3 syncing gets almightily slow, I'm not gonna bother.

thanx just tried this. the only data you will lose are messages and any playlists you've created (you can backup playlists). also if you create folders for your video, music etc. they will need to be created again. everything else you had on there before will still be on there, they will just be put into one folder.
