Upgrading the PS3 Hard-drive - Internal

Hey guys,

I've been looking at this guide here:

It mentions a need for a USB memory stick to back-up your data such as game saves and accounts etc but what about all the other system info such as the actual software running the PS3, is that sort of thing tucked away elsewhere?

you dont copy that... its on the actual PS3, am guessing in cached memory, or something.

Yeah you correct because i have a 40BG but it says on sytem infomation that it has 37 GB so 3GB must be backed up data :) abd if its a 60GB launch PS3 then it should say 55GB (the extra 2GB is for the PS2 shizzle)

I've had my 250GB HDD in my PS3 for a couple of days now, and I don't see a significant differance in heat. Maybe a little cooler (it depends on the HDD you go for...), but not totally noticable.

I went for the Western Digital 320GB SATA II after a recommendation from this site (sorry cannot remember offhand who originally posted), although I haven't had the time to change the HDD yet.
