Well to begin with i started with a character and built it being able to use magic/melee and I didn't have problems, now I've reached late 30s level I feel like my character is rubbish. I can't kill anything in higher worlds, I eat way too much food (I had over 100 half moons yesterday and got 20 left), been grinding red eye (which occasionaly i have to restart PS3 as he ends up catching me).
I think i might take a break from the game as its becoming very repetitive and after reading a lot about NG+ I think I want go there...
Anyways I might start again or if anyone knows anything that can tempt me to continue
30+ Hours and this is what I have to show...
Here are my stars (soul level 31)
Viv 16
Will 15
Endur 15
Strength 20
Dexter 11
Magic 14
Faith 10
Luck 10

Which levels have u completed? I felt like this as well a lot. I persevered though and it does get more manageable. NG+ is harder but by this time u should have some decent spells and know how 2 beat most of the bosses. Spells like death cloud and total protection are really useful and can save a lot of really hard fights. I find that now the most annoying things are the black phantom invaders. I also switched 2 black leather armour it makes dodging so much easier and when u have total protection on this will stop u being killed in 1 hit by most creatures. Hope this helps. I never thought I was going 2 beat some of the bosses but I learned from my mistakes. I personally found the maneater boss the hardest.

I also found that level 4-3 (the storm king boss) level was an easier place 2 grab some souls. I had the thief ring on and I would warp in cast total protection and smite the mantas (with the storm sword) and could get about 20000 souls in 3 minutes and get back 2 the nexus really quickly so I didnt get invaded.

Hey there.
Don't give up!
This is a perseverance game. 30 hours is not a lot, I know it feels like a lot but it isn't, given you can actually spend over 400 hours on this game.
The trick to not getting bored is, IMO, online grinding. Be a Blue Phantom, and help others. You will learn from their style and you will gain souls, but the levels will seem different because of the different people playing.
You can have a knight that plays magic and melee. It will take you longer to perfect it, but you will be stronger than anyone when you reach level 100.

I do have to say to get death cloud don't you need to beat the end boss?
With most of the bosses and your guide Hihihellobye it tells me what i require to beat x boss, when i look at it every boss requires you to beat another boss in order
to gain there soul to get x spell.
I grinded to level 40+ last night and today I will grind 60-70 before I attempt another boss do you think its a good idea or bad cause they also will be getting stronger.

No I'm pretty sure that you get Deaths Cloud when you trade in the soul of the Dirty Colossus you get in the Valley of defilement (some of the easier bosses, but harder levels). Once you have that if you equip the thief ring you can effectively sneak up to 'casting' range and hit whatever with Death Cloud and then walk back to a safe distance. It will slowly but surely kill whatever you hit and you wont have to fight it at all, very handy. I dont think that it works on the creatures in the Valley of Defilement but most of the black phantoms you encounter can be killed with it, and I know that it messes up some of the bosses so that they dont attack once you have hit them with it. I'm level 102 and on NG+ and I'm struggling with 4-2 (the bloody death things). I also dont think that the bosses are progressively harder just require different tactics. As I have said before I found Maneater the hardest and some very easy (Dragon God, Adjudicator etc). I also dont think that the difficulty level of the bosses changes because you have levelled up, I think that say for example you levelled up to 150 and had only beat a couple of bosses you would find some of them really easy as you were so high.

Hello there.
I don`t think the bosses get stronger with your leveling up. So don`t worry and do the grinding.
Regarding the guide and the spells, yes, it is likely that you will find many times you need to beat a boss before beating another. I noted down the most effective ways to take the bosses down, which probably means how you would approach on your second playthrough.
1. The first boss that you should go to after Phalanx is Tower Knight, so that you get Total Protection.
2. After that you can grind in the Shrine of Storms, until you are strong enought to go to Latria. (You can get the Adjudicator soul to use in point 5)
3. Do 3-1 to free Freke and get the Soul Light spell
4. Do 2-1 and 2-2 to unlock strong upgrades at Blacksmith Ed with Flamelurker`s soul.
5. Get the Meat Cleaver
6. Then do the entirety of Valey of Defilement: Death cloud is Maiden Astraea`s spell, so you will need to complete to 5-3. However you can get by with regular spells in this levels: all you need are lots of healing items.
7. Now you can go anywhere in any order.
Superbjobby: agree! Maneater was the worst... just because it is so darn easy to fall off that platform.

For a helpful frame of reference it took me 127 hrs to complete the game (all the way to new game++++) and get platinum, but 40 of those hours were for trying to get the pure bladestone and a further 5 hrs were for farming cloudstones, the rest was game related, if you get help from other people you can probably do it in far less time :-)
Additionally the other way to beat most bosses is to get the firestorm spell, this pretty much obliterates nearly every demon aside from 4-3, in 1-2 hits and even if you arent strong enough to fight it normally should help you get the upper hand.
hope this helps :D
