for all the new members psn is going to give what is called psn points to all those willing to give up time for there playstaion. now i took the time to speak to a man called geroge delani ,that might be spelt wrong.this man sent me an email telling me that the points system has an allways been in place it is just recent that they HAVE decided to award psn TOKENS which will be redeamble against items for home or EXCLUSIVETY on betas and they expect this to be finished in time for home. i recently made a team just for this site, which i explained i would remove if the mods wanted (team-www.ps3trophies.co.uk) now i guess your wondering just how do you find out how many points you have ? well its prety simple just go to my certificit in the statistics menu and it tells you how many points you have acumlated. i have 1200points now i dont know if that will buy a hat for home or a mansion , we will just wait an see. if any one wants to join the ps3trophies folding team

Okay, I joined. I only just changed my donor name and now it says I have donated 0 points :S I must have had it going for a total of at least 50 hours by now, it sucks that my stats say 0 points.

It's a good idea though, thanks for setting up the team. If we get more people on this it would be great, we could be the #1 team out there! And it would be great to earn points to get ingame stuff in home and extra content etc, hopefully this will be retroactive.

Hang on, is your certificate tied to your psn? Because I might not be signed in but I'm folding, which might be why it said I have 0 points.

Okay, you were saying about auto start, how does that work? I can't find the option, I have auto shutdown though. I might write up a guide for this when I know a bit more, and when we know if we'll get these points etc.

I've folded 2 proteins already
I had 250 points after the first one, so I'm assuming 250 points per fold?
Maybe it gets bigger the more you do it?

I just turned the program on and off it went
My two proteins took about 8 hours each to completely finish
I just put it on overnight and when I got back from work it had shut off after doing 2.
Before I left for work it had just started the second one so I went into the settings and put it on 'auto-shutdown' mode so when it finished the second one my PS3 just turned itself off.

Hmmm, I have the funniest feeling... I don't think that folding will earn you points. I can't find a single piece of information claiming it does. But you can use my above post to join the team anyway if you're feeling charitable, just don't get your hopes up.

Use this for now.

When its in, go to Identify in the menu, and Change Donor Name. Change it to whatever you want, I used my PSN ID.

Then, go back to Identify, go to Join an Existing Team, enter 147014 as the number to join our team.

I'll be writing up a full guide about F@H shortly.

ageant09: whilst you're changing the team name, give us a reasonable source to your claim in the first topid (points = psn and home items)

Yes, its true our name is www.ps3trophies.com, this needs to be changed. Rather than make a new team, ageant09, you can change this team name, it says the leader who has the name and password can alter the name. It needs to be changed from .com to .co.uk

press triangel on the folding logo in the xmb to pick your auto start options

Yeah a source to support this would be great, I remember reading an article speculating something like this would be happening - but that was about a year ago. Haven't heard anything since.. I had 12 units completed from when I used to leave the ps3 on overnight. I had it set up so F@H came on automatically after being left idle for so long but I stopped doing it when I didn't hear anything else about it.

right im not allowed at all to give you proof. anything i say must be taken point blank belive it or not im sorry, im not losing my job, i will change it (the name ok) the servers in america are blown at the mo so that might be why some can not conect to the team changing the name resets the score but its fine . secondly you will not register with the team till you complete one unit. the points are told on the homepage of folding as with the trophies compaison thing. and if you want more proof go to your wallet and look at the option to redeam network no. this is how you spend the points. it will all be explained shortly. oh and any of you hoping to gt play tv this week are going to be disapointed it got delayed till oct. sorry im trying to do this and get up to date at work. plz give me some time and i will get all the info you need

Someone else did start the rumour on this site, I checked the threads yesterday.

And it's great that you made the group, ageant, and thanks for changing the name. I understand that, if you are in a position to know about this, you wouldn't want to risk losing your job, no one would want that. I figured that you'd found a story on a site somewhere which is why I was asking for proof, but I understand it's still in the rumour mill.

For the record, I don't know whether this could happen or not. It would make sense, but the same amount of sense as it would have a year ago and it didn't happen then. All I know is that it's got me back into folding again, and whether or not I'll get points or whatever, it's a good thing.

Hehe, I've since downloaded the computer client for F@H as well, contributing to my user and our team, so we'll be doing even better (my laptop is pretty much constantly on :D)

servers are down, the one that deals with the 60 gbs ps3 has gone down as they have a better set up inside so there fixing it. all new ps3sare being made to the 60 spec without the card drives an that all important front vent will be added

i dont understand properly what you mean. but if you mean 60gb cant use finding home for a certain reason mine is working fine and i have a 60gb

when im typing im looking at the keybord then wen i look up half xt is mising see what i mean that was ment to say text. one hand typing at the mo, so it takes ages an im lazy soz. and yes some 60gb can not get on to the 172. servers i think it says 172. anyway might be 171s but thats the reason any way. just some and it says its being sorted as we speak. my ip is 182. something so its fine im sure it will be ok soon.

i am one from a very low number in my country that got trophies or even got PSN account !

so it will be great if i see even one dote in my country .. i am trying to teach them .. but even they don't know english .!

there are a lot of cool ppl on this site. v informed and well educated like minded ppl its got a rep for banning the "your so gay" shouters which i like even though i dont mind the shouters , but it must be hard geting complaints about this one an that one saying this n that .good mods on here. i still think the .com idea was good but i supose you are right team we are .co.uk no mater how you look at it so right decision. maybe teams could join to make an aliance of MEGA FOLDERS FORCE1 we could save the universe.

the folding site has updated only 2 of us registerd into the scorebords today , you must compleate at least one workload to be registed in to the scorebord of the team i have asked my mates on my buddie bar to join too. not all are tinternet compatible soz about 10 are workmates and drinking buddies

I was 10% through a work unit when I changed my donor name and joined the team, and let it finish but it didn't come up :( I'd been folding all day. Oh well, 10% through tyhe next one now, I'll get one for the team eventually.

I think advanced is just a bigger protein thinger, which takes longer to test.
I'm assuming it'd take a lot longer, but apparently it gives 750 points, instead of the normal 250.

about 500 points i have done 3 workloads on advance and got nerly 4000 points ???wtf? but eluez (sorry if its spelt wrong) the man with the same name is "bus_driver" he has had cancer and beat it ,so i dont like the thought of telling him to change it but you can though. .about 20 ppl from the buddie bar now joind so as soon as evryone compleates 1 workload thn we will see whos part of it. i do what you do leave it on overnight and turn it off in the morning for an hour. but the ps3 can be left on for 6 days without exteral fans/cooling system . as long as its in a good open space.not on top a dvd player or next to a speaker or something. just on its own. my set up is the big kids wet dream so i can leave it on forever

Ijoined the group with nr 40017 :P I thought it lookt wierd so i€ had to check again here, but now im on the right team:devilish:

BTW I think more ppl will join if you create a thread named "Folding @ Home" and have it as sticky and start with the group nr and stuff. And put it as sticky, and on the front page news that we have a group.

I just joined the team, glad to have my PS3 be useful when I'm not playing.

And as predicted by Akumatron, we did shoot through the ranks and are now 9776 out of 143944 teams. With only 20 members with at least one completed WU I think it's pretty good.

You got that many points because there are loads of people called PS3 on folding Home.

How do I join your team on Life With Playstation. I know how to do it on Folding Home but not on this new one
