Well as im sure you all know today is the 20th anniversary of the Hillsborough stadium disaster. 96 fans lost their lives in the accident but i'm a bit annoyed about 1 of the events that has taken place at Anfeild today.

A man came out and sang the "hillsborough song" and it was moving at first. about half way through it says "those that are to blame, hang your heads shame". so you could say that it was the polices fault for letting in so many fans into one section of the ground. this can't be true though because at the time the idea was to fit in as many people as possible. what many dont remember though is that thousands of fans broke the law and got in for free which must have lead to incorrect numbers on the turnsitles, meaning that they didnt know when to stop letting fans into the ground.

What are your views on this topic?

I think they still haven't done it justice for the people who lost family members. The people who were to blame to should have faced the consequences and had punishment.

But they still haven't, its ridiculous. And i think the family's will continue to campaign for that to happen.

Its always been, and always will be my opinion that, whichever idiot conjured up the throwing up of fences at football grounds, should be ashamed of themselves.

Back in those days, football fans were treated like some sort of subhuman, animals to some extents. Whoever thought it would be a good idea to sling up, what were basically cages, needs shooting.

Looking back, the layout of some grounds was just plain horrible and it sort of makes you wonder about who saw Hillsborough as a fit venue to host such a big stage.

The fact of the matter is, if you were to hang the guilty parties, from police, to politians, to stewards, you wouldnt have enough bloody rope.....

And for those few ingrates who post crap on message boards, absolute garbage that does not bear repeatin' if you cannot take 2 minutes to stand in silent remembrance to 96 football fans who went to a semi final and never came home, at least grant them a minutes silent reflection that their tragic deaths made football a safer place for alot of people

I apologise for using this thread for such a tirade and me heart goes out to those poor scouse who lost family and friends on that horrendous day
Football fans today, sit or stand in relative safety because of that fateful day at Hillsborough. R.I.P

From a Villa fan.
