About side missions

Hello there m8s.
I was wondering,Do you have to complete every single side mission right before u complete the main missions?i thought i read somewhere (not sure)that u loose the side missions if u go straight to the main ones.....

ive completed the story missions (Have to go back for the other two bosses tho) and after Get Gallo, everything cleared from the map apart from the garages. I saved and gave up. Upon loading the game up again, all the side missions returned.... so no sweat.... just have a spare save when you are about to do either Stavos swansong, Radaus requiem or Paulo's peace so that you can easily go back and do the other ones (3 saves in total should do it)
