Are the Trophies hard to get?

So i've heard it requires multiple plays and the difficulty increases each time.

it requires a minimum of 3 playthroughs to get everything,normally even 4 playthroughs but you can cheat at the blacksmith,as soon as you forge the last demon weapon and get the gold trophy you can quit the game and reload to spend your demon souls on the magics & miracles

as for the difficulty,its damn hard but there is a exp duplication glitch where you can max your level (712!!) within 1 hour,as its on the disc they can never fix it...with the same glitch you can also decrease the difficulty of the new game+ back to normal

Note that the lower-difficulty trick (requires online) no longer works with the latest patch so there is no easy way around New Game+ now.

For the "Best" weapon of each category, you can find someone online to drop you the specific weapon for instant trophy.

Generally, you're looking at 100~120 hours for platinum

I just started the game and don't want to spoil my experience too much, but should I try to get my personal and the worlds tendencies in a certain way from the beginning? Heard its very hard to get pure white/black tendency and so I don't want to put obstacles in my way to platinum ;)

Character tendency can be easy to change: to be pure white, be a blue phantom and help other players for 10 times and you will be there.
For Black, kill all the vendors that are not in the nexus, and you can start the mephistopheles quest with all your assassination targets ready.

World tendency is IMO quite important... You will only be able to get certain items if it is pure black or white. To have it white, kill Bosses and black phantoms (both AI and other players). For pure black, you will have to die 4 or 5 times in the same world whilst being alive.

What kind of game is this? Is it enjoyable?

Demon`s Souls is an "Action RPG"... kinda like a "condensed" Japanese Oblivion. Compact does not mean short, it is just more focused.
It is not an easy game, you will die often and make costly mistakes that will waste away hours of grinding, but that only furthers the feeling of accomplishment when you actually get the hand of it and can beat bosses without trouble.

i have the platinum,i know all of that,thx ;P

i never played the coop,it could never find any games thanks to the level limit,and if i found a blue sign the game always failed to summon the blue phantom

plus the world tendency reset glitch if you are online,after i read about it i only played offline (and no,it does not only occour if you save in the nexus,it will also happen randomly if you save in dungeons and reload)

btw you cant begin the mephistophles quest until you rescued yurt,no matter how pure black your are

Big question: How to get Pure Black/White Char/World Tendency, perhaps it's worth an own thread, I gonna start looking for existing tipps and guides in the net now...

Yes you use the "souls" that you get from defeated enemies as both leveling up and purchasing currency. This means you will have to do loads of grinding! There are many many many different types of weapons, many many many different upgrades for each type, and unique weapons that have some sort of story behind them.

You face all sort of enemies, from rats to crazed soldiers and knights to giant flying mantas... and hordes of them are usually not a nice thing to find.

Sorry wasn`t meaning to be condescending :) I just don`t think character/world tendency was that hard to change. I had finished the game before the update and re-did it when it went online, it is more fun online. And since I don`t quit the game, the glitch doesn`t bother me.
You`re right abt Yurt, but I was assuming everyone knew that.

The hint was: Behind the first fog on a tiny island. Can you say which isle is meant according to this map http://img15.imageshack.us/img15/2144/52vod.gif

just after the first fog don't go all the way up on the wooden way.....just jump down in the swamp to your right and look for a fire on an island......on your map it's the top most between 7 and 8

As others have said, when you follow the initial path that leads you to the first fog, you will encounter a giant globlin, and then a wooden walkway that goes up and takes you to the other side of the barricade. You should jump down from that walkway when you encounter the first poisonous mosquito and then walk in the swamp towards a small island that has a candle and a treasure. Selen will be there.

** According to the map you linked, the Island is between points 7 and 8: draw a straight line uniting those points and they just almost touch the location of the two "islands" in which Selen should spawn. You will have to get close because she sometimes glitches and only half of her body is showing.

thanks for all your help ;) Perhaps my last question now on my way to platinum.

the statue in my World Tendency screen got a bright and shiny light on her chest, i guess that means I got white character tendency.

I got Nort Regalia and it says 135 +108 PhysATK and 135 +108 MagATK in human form.

I thought that would suffice to get the friend's ring from the Monumental but he still asks me if I visited the pantheon (what I did)

EDIT: I got it, killed Black Phantom Selen and it rose to 135+135 both. :)

yeah, this game is awesome, loved Fallout 3 as well, but it's been much easier.

EDIT: Damn, got another problem ... Im on my 3rd playthrough and just killed the idol in 3-1 ... everything okay, but when I approach the altar nothing happens ... no gargoyles carrying me up to the archstone :( any idea?
EDIT2: Pah, have to kill some guy near the special keys, that m...rf.....r! :P

I know this thread is way dead, but I'm hoping some guys still have it linked to send an email. I posted this problem in a separate thread on this site, so I apologize for reduntancy.

I can't get Ed to open the dialogue to take my RH demon soul. I've tried for 2 hours now and he just says the same exact thing over and over. I've played on-line, off-line, with patches and without. Tried hitting him, upgrading a ton of crap, repaired a ton of crap, killing more bosses, cleared out stonefang completey, exiting after talking to him by walking away, and a few other things. My CT is black right now, and I'm on NG++. I didn't give him the RH soul in my NG+ but did in my first playthrough. I consumed the extra one I had so now I have one.
