Yes all versions have trophies, and the Asia version is in English (meaning in-game dialog, subtitles, menus, etc are all in English). The only slightly annoying bit with the Asia version is that the full-length manual is only in Chinese, so you have to make do with a briefing of 2 pages in English.
Still very worth it!

I bought this in Korean the other day off eBay, its the same deal. The manual is totally in Korean and it states on the back it is only in Korean language. But when you fire it up, the voice acting and text is all in English if your PS3 is set up with English language as default.

Only played a few hours, but it looks like a really fun game!!

Oh I didn't know that. I remember some people saying the in-game menu was in Korean... Maybe they had the wrong setting for the ps3?

I'm, at 50 hrs and i have 30% of the trophies on my first playthrough. In order to get all the trophies you need to play through the whole game 3-4 times, depending upon how good you are...and this game is tough :P

Pardon me for my stupidity but where is the trophy guide you said? I tried looking in the Demon Souls section under Retail in this website but the "Guide" link is not active and I could only find a few tips in "Interactive Trophy Guide" :bomb:

So glad you think the guide will be useful! :D

The level up glitch is a game-breaker, as in if you do it in the start of the game it will ruin the game for you because it will take away the challenge (and if you max your level you won`t be able to play online with other players, because few people are that high).
I recommend that you only turn to this on your second or third playthrough, to make the trophy hunting easier.

Woah that sux! What was the reason for the delay?
PlayAsia is much better (they never charge your credit card until items are shipped) but they don`t ship to EU :(
If you have a paypal account and paid using that, get in touch with Paypal for reimbursement, or ask your credit card company to deal with it, some of them will protect you (the client) at all costs.

Same thing at playasia and the other places you linked in your first post too, so guess i'll just wait. But 1 month is so damn long, means I wont get it before june and there are many games being released around that time.

I ended up buying from 3 HK sellers, since all of em seemed to be trying to cheat me... They all said in stock but when I bought they didn't had it... At least one of em shipped more than ONE WEEK after I bought it (bought day 14, he shipped day 23)...

I'm simply dying to play this game, when I get it I'll play it non-stop until I get the plat :D

And even without having the game just by reading the posts here I understood a lot of it already! Thanks a lot guys, espacially Hihihellobye! :)

I heard the text is in English if the ps3 language is set to English, else it will be in Korean.

Yes I got it, it's completely english, text and voices, never seen any Korean text except the trophies are shown in korean and the manual is completely in Korean.

My PS3 is set to German

Solerever - You will have to wait a long time LOL, it takes a good 30 odd hours for a playthrough and it sounds like you need a couple of play throughs. I racked up about 120+ hours on FF 12 so I do play games to death sometimes!

Really? That`s unusual... Unless there is a "language" option in-game, the ps3 settings would normally not affect the coded language of the game. It would affect the trophy installation, I have trophy lists in Japanese and English regardless of the region version because of the language I had my ps3 set to at the time.
Most games are like that.
I prefer to have text in English so my ps3 is set to English, but i prefer to play games in French when there is French voices available so i have to switch to French and back to English in the XMB settings all the time because there is no language option ingame most of the time which is annoying.
It's the same on 360, and Wii too as i found out recently when I borrowed my bro's Wii.

Demons Soul's Oh my god how hard! I never thought I would die so many times in a game, but still want to go back and try again! Its like torture, but when you do get to the next part or defeat the little barst that was kicking your arse the sense of achievement is immense. I love this game already but it is bloody hard! Oh did I say....it hard!

yeah, i have the korean version. Its all in English, subtitles and voice overs.

the only worrying thing was that if you look at the back of the box it only states it is in Korean, which had me worried when it was delivered to work and i had to wait until i got home to try it out! Thankfully as mentioned above its all in English, if you have your PS3 setup with English as the default language.

It even has the correct english translation for the trophies, which i submitted to Ps3 trophies a while back, here

I felt such a sense of acheivement at beating the tower knight last night, I went back to the nexus levelled up my character with the souls and thought I will go to level 4 and do a bit of grinding. I was happily attacking when I had the 'someone' is entering your level message. I thought OK I will run back to the archstone and go back to the nexus, you can't do this during multiplayer ARRGGH! OK fight it is then, got my arse kicked and died. Gutted, luckily I only had about 1000 souls so screw you whoever you were!

LOL. Congrats on defeating Tower Knight... now run to buy the "Total Protection" spell!

And I know exactly what you mean about the Black Phantoms... I hates them. A good thing to notice is that, if someone too strong gets in, you can suicide instead of letting them kill you, that way you can get to your blood stain later and have a chance to get your souls back.

Great thanks for the tips. I`m starting 2 get the hang of it now and can get quite far in some levels without dying at all. The level with the octopus head things was so nerve racking and took me ages 2 get through because I was going so slowly. Managed 2 free the wizard bloke aswell, but not the knight yet, couldnt find his key. Who`s the little dregling bloke with all the yellow orbs round him? There was a message saying attack but he didnt look like a threat.

To Free Rydell, you will have to play 3-2 first. You can see a post in the help section of mycheats with the details.

The "puppet master" that is on top of the church is indeed an enemy and you should kill him or you will not be able to finish this level.

I am working on the maps for Latria, they should be added to the superguide next week.

Phew, thats a relief. There are some very misleading messages there as well like run through. I didn't as I had a lot of souls and didn't want to risk them and luckily found my way round the back to switch it off. I was crapping myself at the top of the towers thinking that at any moment someting will attack me, was very relieved that there was no enemies there and it gave me a bit of a breather!

Haha, i know what you mean abt losing track of time... it's good for me I can play games at work! lol
I think the greatest aspect of this game is that you value your life... you are carrying around your hard earned souls, and you can lose them in an instant if you are not careful. It brings this feeling of reality to it, you are actually scared to be killed... I loved it. Especially when the online function came along... there is nothing like that feeling that you get when you have summoned 2 allies and a black phantom breaks in, and you gang up on him to show him some manners... When you do it on your own it like another lonely victory...

I got Demon's Souls earlier this week and had very high expectations, but the game really lived up to those expectations. Just as I thought this game has a lot in common with (and feels a lot like) Monster Hunter, which is a good thing. A lot of games tend to be too easy nowadays, but thankfully games like this come along every now and then. It's definitely one of the best PS3 games so far in my book.

Thanks Hihihellobye for the links. I ordered this game last week and got it just a few days later, and I live in Sweden, plus it was surprisingly cheap as well. I ordered it from http://www.shopncsx.com/demonssoul-1.aspx, and I can really recommend them, though it's my first purchase there.

To anyone that has this game in the Chinese/English version:

How is the translation? Is there a lot of mistranslated or poorly translated sections? How is the voice acting?

I just wanted to know a little more about the quality of the translating before I look into buying this game.

That's the version I have, and I have to say that it's very well translated, with a few exceptions. There are a number of mistakes I've noticed, though it's nothing big (mostly item descriptions and such), and it won't ruin the experience or anything.

I just beat the game a few hours ago. The only thing I didn't quite understand was the whole world tendency thing, but now I know how it works.

I'm currently playing through the game again trying to get the rest of the trophies. I've also started playing co-op a bit more now, which I really didn't do on my first playthrough, and it seems like a lot of fun.

Chinese and Korean have the manuals and the writing on the box in chinese/ Korean but the actual game is in English (speech and subtitles/ writing)

DO NOT BUY FROM YES ASIA. i cannot stress this enough. i have now waited 1 month for it to arrive. it was supposidly sent on the 27th July. i have sent them nemerous emails about it, and they have finally admitted to it being 'lost'. when i asked for it to be sent via express delivery as compensation, they said this cannot be done. i am furious with them. they have also not apologised for any delays, only that i should wait '6-14 business working days'. it takes the sodding piss. they also dont provide any tracking numbers.

so, learn from my misake, dont buy from yes asia.
